The Federal Aviation Administration announced on Tuesday they have revoked the licenses of the two Northwest Airlines pilots who overflew the Twin Cities by 150 miles. The FAA cited a number of violations by Capt. Timothy Chaney of Gig Harbor Wash., and First Officer Richard Cole of Salem Ore.
This situation still begs the question: What created such a huge distraction as for the two NWA pilots not allowing contact from the ground for nearly 80 minutes and overshooting the Minneapolis airport by 150 miles?
Was it the pilots using laptops, falling asleep, cockpit entertainment or a mystery answer that we may never know?
The pilots have 10 days to appeal to the National Transportation Safety Board.
