Oakland Gunman: La Escuelita Elementary School On Lockdown

Oakland Unified School District spokesman Troy Flint says all students except for one class already have been evacuated from La Escuelita Elementary School. Flint says the remaining class of special needs students is not in danger.

Police are searching the campus, and no gunman has been found.

As a police helicopter hovered overhead, officers stood with their weapons drawn by the school portables on Third Avenue. La Escuelita is located off East 12 Street, a block away from the school district's headquarters and near Laney College.
