Obama and Pope Talk Abortion as President Considers Key Changes
In what has been a whirlwind 48 hours of activity President Obama is reportedly planning to issue another executive order, this one reversing ex-President Bush's harsh stand on funding international aid organizations that provide access to abortion information.
Obama had a discussion with Pope Benedict in which the President is said to have respectfully agreed to disagree with the Pontiff on the abortion issue. The discussion has been considered by some observers as a courtesy call during which the new US President gave the Pope advance notice of his plan.
Newsmax is reporting today that Pope Benedict and President Obama have spoken about gay marriage and abortion.According to sources, Obama supports the idea of traditional marriage but doesn’t support restrictions on abortion.
When abortion was discussed, Obama is reported to have said: “We agree to disagree.” (I doubt the Pope actually agreed to this philosophical detente.)
On the issue of abortion policy, National Public Radio is reporting that Obama is expected to issue an executive order revoking a Bush policy that bars international family-planning organizations that offer abortion services from receiving US government aid.
Asking US taxpayers to pay for abortion services at home or abroad denies pro-lifers the moral choice to not finance a practice they consider to be murder. This is one Bush initiative that should stay in place.

Yay!
I completely disagreed with Dubya's stance on the desecularisation of state funding. It's marvellous that Pres. Obama is reversing that awful trend towards religious rationale for political action.
I wish President Obama a long life and great success.

President Obama's stand to support abortion has come as a blow to the millions of people in the world who rallied to support him. The question is How can a man who wants to build America and the world want s to destroy the America of tomorrow? Among the innocent children who will be killed during his regime, he may be killing the real president of America. How can one support life by destroying the very life. It is not late to reverse what has been said. Many souls are going to cry for help only to know that the person who does not want them has his own children except he wants to say that he has had some abortions done by his wife. Do not be the source of sadness to many unhappy homes and marriages. Life is sacred and must not under any circumstances like one person's opinion, be destroyed.

Dear Editor,
In regards to our President's comment to the Pope on the issue of abortion ("We agree todisagree."), I offer my thoughts.
The President's statement demonstrates a closed mind on the subject.
The Pope is not a political enemy of the United States. And both the President and thePope are intelligent men. Surely, a conversation between the two men on the subject of abortion would lead to a beneficial advancement of each man and of the human society.
Thanks,
