Obama Asks Top Moneyfolks to Help Clinton Retire Her Debt
June 24, 2008 Tahman Bradley-->
ABC News has learned that on a conference call with his national finance team this afternoon, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, asked his top contributors to help Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, retire her more than $10 million in outstanding vendor debt. He did not specify an amount.
Clinton's debt has been a major point of contention as the two former rivals attempt to reconcile.
Clinton will appear at an Obama fundraiser Thursday night in Washington, D.C., and the two will campaign together in Unity, NH, on Friday.

Could this have been part of the deal to get her to suspend her campaign?

There was talk about a debt help if she suspended her campaign. Very good point.

Good thinking, Obama! I was concerned he would personally bail her out from his campaign contributions, but that would have been out of order from the point of view of the contributors.

Good work. Now the Democratic Party is closing the gap with John Mc Cain. In fact Barack Obama has done a wonderfull job so far. First he beated Hillary in a long competition. Than he got finally support of Al Gore.

After that Hillary choose his side in change for some little help to find some money. Hillary lost only 30 million dollars on her campaign. Now Barack is asking people to donate for Hillary and finally even Bill Clinton said he is now also endorsing Barack Obama.

Great show, with lotst of money involved. I was wondering if anybody in the USA is interested in the choises president-candidates are making on a lot of really important issues, like renewable energy, the climate crisis, health care and of course the war against terrorism in Irak, Afghanistan and a lot of other countries.

politisite, I like this story. It's good stuff. Gee, you know, if you can't afford to get into the game, you should stay at home. they should seriously have a cap on donations, cause once elected to office, it comes time to pay the piper who donated in order to get you elected.

Here is another thing to keep in mind. If Senator Clinton could not deal with the finances of her campaign and has left venders unpaid to the tune of 8 million dollars, how could she run a country. I think the Democrats may have made the right decsion

yeah she expects people who lost their homes to dig deep and bail her out, don't think so Hillary!
