THE SISTER of one of the neo nazi defendants, Kayla Schlesselman, 16, sister of Paul Schlesselman, 18, has apologised on behalf of her brother.  Paul Schlesselman who was arrested with Daniel Cowart, 20, in Crockett County, Tennessee, last Wednesday is charged with threatening a presidential candidate and firearms offences.  Kayla is quoted as saying, "He believed he was part of the 'master race' and believed in 'white power'".

Schlesselman is from Helena West Helena, Arkansas, a town which is 66% predominantly black.

Senator Barack Obama said today he was not worried, as he trusted in his "secret services".

HELENA-WEST HELENA, Ark. (AP) — The family of one of two suspects accused of plotting to decapitate black people and assassinate Barack Obama said Tuesday the teen disliked blacks and considered himself part of a "master race," but they doubted the plot was serious.

Paul Schlesselman, 18, had dropped out of school and was looking for work, his family told The Associated Press at their rural Arkansas home Tuesday. They believed he was in Texas when the Secret Service arrived Friday to seize a computer hard drive and notebooks of drawings.

"He just believes that he's the master race," said his sister, Kayla Schlesselman, 16, adding that she would often argue with him about his racial beliefs. "He would just say things like 'white power' and 'Sieg Heil' and 'Heil Hitler.'"

But she and her father, Mike, both said they didn't believe he was capable of carrying out an attack. "I think it's just a lot of talk. He would never do something like this," his father said.

Schlesselman is charged along with Daniel Cowart, 20, of Bells, Tenn. with planning the spree. Authorities described the two as white supremacists who met on the Internet about a month ago. The charges were made public Monday.

Kayla Schlesselman said she spoke with her older brother Monday night, and that he expressed regret. "He said he's sorry about everything he's done," she said.

Despite making sure the plot was stopped, authorities did not believe Cowart and Schlesselman had the means to carry out their threat to assassinate Obama, said a federal law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the case publicly.

"WHITE Supremacist" skinheads in Tennessee were behind a plot to murder 102 school children and then assassinate Senator Barack Obama, it has been revealed.

The two men arrested are Daniel Cowart, 20, of Bells, Tennessee, and Paul Schlesselman, 18, of West Helena, Arkansas.  Pictured is Daniel Cowart in a sickening pose on his Myspace page.  The two men were arrested in Crockett County, Tn, and have been charged with threatening the Senator and the possession of firearms, including a sawn-off shotgun.

The men are held without bond and police refused to reveal whether the men were involved with others.

' rel="nofollow">http://ap.google.com/...5tg63njLNy0UTDNAD9433E080"]

The court records say Cowart and Schlesselman also bought nylon rope and ski masks to use in a robbery or home invasion to fund their spree, during which they allegedly planned to go from state to state and kill people.

For the Obama plot, the legal documents show, Cowart and Schlesselman "planned to drive their vehicle as fast as they could toward Obama shooting at him from the windows."

"Both individuals stated they would dress in all white tuxedos and wear top hats during the assassination attempt," the court complaint states. "Both individuals further stated they knew they would and were willing to die during this attempt."

Cavanaugh said there's no evidence — so far — that others were willing to assist Cowart and Schlesselman with the plot.

The US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms says that it has stopped a plot to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and kill 102 black people.

The plot also included plans to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14 in a Tennessee murder spree.

In court records unsealed today agents said they disrupted plans by two neo-Nazi skinheads to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school.

The two men - Daniel Cowart, 20, of Bells, Tennessee, and Paul Schlesselman, 18, of West Helena, Ark., were arrested last Wednesday by the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office. They vowed that they would be willing to die during the attempt, federal documents revealed.

It is reported that Coward and Schlesselman met on the internet about about a month ago and shared their interest in “White Power” and “Skinhead” philosophy, according to federal court documents.

Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of the Nashville field office for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said that Obama was to be the final target.

"They said that would be their last, final act — that they would attempt to kill Sen. Obama," Cavanaugh said. "They didn't believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying. It is critical that the alleged plot was interrupted."

Reports are coming out that the US government foiled an assassination plot on US Senator Barack Obama, BBC report, citing Associated Press.

The same report tells of a far right group in Tennessee who allegedly planned to rob a gun store and target students at an African American high school.  According to reports the skinhead group planned to "shoot and decapitate" 102 predominantly African American children at the school.

Good stuff, keep us posted. I suppose it was inevitable that some people would try something like this. Thank God they got stopped.

thanks Rachel

yeah, glad they stopped it, I don't have the money to move to another country should Obama be assassinated. Taking out John and Bobby was enough for my lifetime.

Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of the Nashville field office for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said the two men planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community.

Thanks for your input, ojt!  Difficult to gauge just how serious a threat these people were, or whether they are just a couple of fantasists (they are only 18 and 20).

(CNN) -- Federal prosecutors in Tennessee have charged two men with plotting a "killing spree" against African-Americans that would have been capped with an attempt to kill Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama.

Federal prosecutors charged two men with making threats against Barack Obama.

The U.S. attorney's office in Jackson, Tennessee, said Daniel Cowart, 20, and Paul Schlesselman, 18, were self-described white supremacists who met online through a mutual friend.

Both men have been charged with illegal possession of a sawed-off shotgun, conspiracy to rob a federally licensed gun dealer and making threats against a presidential candidate.

Cowart and Schlesselman were arrested after an aborted robbery attempt last week, prosecutors said in a statement announcing the charges.

They made their initial appearances before a federal judge Monday and are scheduled for a bond hearing Thursday in Memphis.

The good news is they caught these idiots. The bad news is there will likely be more attempts by similar backward thinking morons.

The significance of the 14:

This numeral represents the phrase "14 words," the number of words in an expression that has become the battle cry and rallying slogan for the white supremacist movement: "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children." This expression was coined by white supremacist David Lane while in prison serving essentially a life sentence for his role in

The significance of the 88:

The eighth letter of the alphabet is "H." Eight two times signifies "HH, " shorthand for the Nazi greeting, "Heil Hitler." 88 is often found on hate group flyers, in both the greetings and closing comments of letters written by neo-Nazis, and in e-mail addresses.

I knew about the 88 but had no idea of the 14.  It all seems pretty mindless.

Sen. Obama is a wonderful human being. Thank God that this "plan" didnt go into effect. Only a dumbass would even think of something like that. Times are changing and we,as a people, need to get with the program. Klan, Nazi, Skinheads, Black Panther Party and whoever else need to get  a clue, drop the ignorance and realize that we have way too many other issues to address. ONE LOVE!!!

The black panther party has nothing in common with low life degenerate terrorist like the Klan,Nazi, or Skinhead groups. Their reason for coming into existence wasn't to terrorize the white community or any other community of a different ethnicity but to protect and empower the black community during times when blacks were still primarily at the bottom of the societal barrel. The Party still in existence in small numbers hasn't even been half as active as one of the racial terrorist groups that still operate in this society,I don't even know why you even brought them up? In the past some of their actions might have been extreme but understandable but never fueled by racial hate, I don't even know why you would put their name into the same sentence as those brutes.

I agree with you there, JRashBrow.  Wasn't one theme of the Panthers -- power to the people.  Some messages were negative at the time, but the overwelming messages were positive.

Obama's evaluation that these supremacy groups have already been marginalized seems correct.  We'll let the FBI track down the cabbageheads, while we work on the program cited in the Declaration of Independence which is still not complete and much remains to be done.

Christina 123, good stuff.

The possibility exists that these men who crafted this bizarre plan fit the profile of what have been identified as the 'lone wolf' element, written of in a link included in my story, Two Sides of a Coin.

There are close to a quarter of a million known members and supporters of White hate groups in the United States. Not all that may do these types of acts belong to any particular group but, they have a fascination with their ideology, often adopting their belief systems, much like the young men at Colombine High School.

The three men arrested in Colorado, who plotted to assassinate Senator Obama as he delivered his presidential nominee acceptance speech in August 2008, belonged to one of these groups.

The weeks of feeding hatred into the political arena and the escalated emphasis introduced by the McCain-Palin campaign, has added to the atmosphere that emboldens those who harbor hatred for non Whites.

Whether it is determined these men acted alone or not, a racially charged atmosphere has been churning for almost two years that has been meant to do exactly what it has, scare many, with the by product of fear, for some, resorting to violent actions.

Karen, thank you for providing the extra information.

It is easy to say that they are "just lone wolves", but it would only take one bullet to cause a terrible tragedy.  Whoever became president would be at risk from someone who wants their "fifteen minutes of fame", but the last thing needed in the US is a race riot, which is surely what such an event would cause.

You're welcome, Christina.

The race war that those types desire will not materialize. This is not the '50s or '60s.

However, a deep disenfranchisement may set in since this campaign was indeed a catalyst for the enrollment of one of the greatest number of new voters in decades.

It is not quite as simple as one race versus the other since Senator Obama has amassed support from across racial lines.

Let's just hope law enforcement keep catching these folks before they can do harm.

Hear, hear, Karen!  If anything, Obama has probably achieved the sympathy vote, because after all, America is rapidly beoming a mixed race country anyway.

I read the charges against the men as being "illegal possession of a sawed-off shotgun, conspiracy to rob a federally licensed gun dealer and making threats against a presidential candidate."  Were there no charges regarding their plan to murder 102 school kids?

CONGRATULATIONS, US BUREAU of ALCOHOL, TOBACCO and FIREARMS!  THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR AVERTING THIS TRAGEDY!  YOU ROCK!

They can add more charges later.  But I agree, good job, making a martyr out of this guy helps no one. Killing children does nothing to help recruit people to the white supremacy cause either.

It's about character not skin color.  Too bad the Obama supporters don't seem to feel that way!
