The statement in regards to Iran that was made by Democratic co-frontrunner Senator Hillary Clinton of New York has brought forth criticism from Democratic co-frontrunner Barack Obama of Illinois. Recently in the weeks, Clinton had talked about the issue of Iran. She had given the implication about taking “action” in Iran if the country used nuclear weapons against Israel. However, Clinton did not give any specifics.

But, it was more than enough to bring Clinton under fire from Obama. In that respect, Obama compared that to the language of US President George W. Bush. Obama said that the current US foreign policy towards Iran had actually empowered the country. But, he said that Washington would respond if and when Israel is under attack.

However, Obama said that it is still important that the United States gets out of the “cowboy mentality” used by Bush. He adds that it does not help the situation. Then, Obama said that Iran is still able to complain to the United Nations. In that regard, Obama said that if and when that happens, the United States is taking the incorrect path.

This gives a clear sign that Obama and Clinton will probably also clash over Iran. In this case, it could give Obama some extra ammunition to use against Clinton.
