Obama: Becoming 'white over white' to Africa!

During the 20088 USA election when most of peoples of world stood supporting Obama, President Gadafi  of Libya was remembered saying: “It is good supporting Obama as the first black leader breaking history, but who knows if Obama become ‘white over white’ to Africans”?  This seems real as is observable currently.

President Obama was promising many things to Africa during the election campaign and the key ones were bringing democracy to Africa and economic integration with Africa. But still nothing observed! Though I am not racist, it seems that Obama has become ‘white over white’ to Africa as Gadafi said. Where is that democracy Obama brought about in Africa? Where is the economic integration of Africa with the rest of world (except China and India)?

It seems that Obama is only conceptualist and not pragmatist leader as John McCain was saying during the election campaign. If not exaggeration, President Bush was better to Africa than Obama. Is it only the initiative for eradication of malaria in Africa that was expected of Obama by the Africans?

Bush was in office 8 years, Obama has only been there a year....is it really time for this type of comparison.

@Katrice(not verified)Bush didn't promise democracy  and economic integeration of Africa.Bush's prorities were different from those of Obama.Obama can be covniently accused of not fulfilling all his promises and may given latitude for that because enough time is left to fulfill the promises he made to the American people. And Bush was a pathalogical lier like his father. Therefore, comparison between and Bush and Obama doesn't make sense.

Africans are lucky that Obama has backed out from his election compaign promise to bring democracy to Africa and economic integeration with Africa.Gadafi's assessment was based on different parametres, but not on democracy and economic intergeration.

When Obama made the promise of bringing democracy to Africa and its economic integeration with rest of the world,he didn't know the mess, the legacy of Bush Bin Satan's administration,he would inherit and meltdown was in the offing.Establishment of so-called democratic institutions in Iraq and Afghanistan are stained with blood of millions and millions. It wasn't,and isn't,possible to shed more blood for democracy.Economic integeration depends on the size of the market.China and India are big markets with highest numbers of consumers.Whereever potential for exploitation exists, economic integeration gets top priority.

Be thankful to God that Obama didn't fulfill his promises to Africans.Who would like democracy with blood, economic integeration for exploitation?

Why should Obama bring anything to Africa?  Africa is a continent of many nations and he is not a leader to any one of them.  Obama is a leader to America and the American president is more of a figurehead, like Queen Elizabeth, than someone who can autocratically declare and enact laws or policies.  You ask too much of the man.

Hi anarkissed! I think America claims to be a 'world leader' and America is headed by Obama. If America was limited only to America, why is it in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc? Of all, many say that the UN is maneuvered by America and, thus, by implication, the UN resolution means the USA resolution .

So, can we say USA has no impact on the world order?

Obama is not world leader,he is simply president of United States of America.By virtue of being the sole bully, people mistakinly confer title of 'World Leader' on USA.Why is US in Iraq,Afghanistan?Of course as an empire. At one point of time in history, the European bandits, more prominent among them Britain and France, were every where.Somewhere down the line distinction must be drawn between colonial master and leader.

Warlords had,and have, impact on their own respective areas in Afghanistan.US,an international warlord, with a large network of stooges and puppet regimes has greater impact.

UNO is a dead horse,it reacts same way when conflits and crises happen  a dead horse does when flogged.

"Puppet Regimes" Nice expression and I agree with you t k kidwai! Puppet regimes serving as subcontractor of USA in exchange of life with money! I cannot give you examples as I will be in danger!
