With the historic Blair House in Washington as the backdrop President Obama kicked off a health care summit that could have far reaching consequences to the USA.

President Obama has raised the stakes in one of the most important policy decisions the United States is facing and will likely face for generations to come.

We all know this is urgent," Obama told the gathering. But unfortunately, he said, despite all the hearings and negotiations that have taken place over the past year, "this became a very ideological battle; it became a very partisan battle, and I think politics ended up trumping practical common sense.

The Republicans, like Lamar Alexander, are calling on the President to start all over with Health Care Reform in the United States and the partisan rhetoric is bound to surface

Speaking for his party, Tennessee Sen. Lamar Alexander told the president at the opening of a health care summit Thursday that he should scrap the health care bill Senate Democrats passed on Christmas Eve and start fresh from a clean sheet of paper.

This live coverage is pandering to the camera but we are getting some insights on who is blocking reform, always the republicans do not have Americans interests at heart.

The fact that the media, thus the masses have access to the summit is interesting in itself. However, how much can actually be accomplished if lawmakers are trying to uphold their image all the while attempting to come up with solutions. Multiple media weigh in http://bit.ly/bZlb2I
