Obama Loss 'Will Spark the Second American Civil War. Blood Will Run in the Streets' - Erica Jong, Italian interview

Best-selling author Erica Jong shares her concerns about a 2008 election theft leading to a second American Civil War, in an interview with Itailian daily Corriere della Sera. Concerns are real, given the almost complete lack of accountability with electronic voting and opscan machines, and their notorious unreliability. Jong fears "blood will run in the streets"; pretty dramatic.

My advice is, tape the news and monitor the web- if things are turning out funny, don't react right away, don't respond to provocations or invitations to violence; that's exactly what fascists want, an excuse to crack down and intill fear- resist non-violently, and they're at a loss.

Posted in the Observer, it's gotten over 3000 comments.

Interview excerpts here:

"The record shows that voting machines in America are rigged."

"My friends Ken Follett and Susan Cheever are extremely worried. Naomi Wolf calls me every day. Yesterday, Jane Fonda sent me an email to tell me that she cried all night and can't cure her ailing back for all the stress that has reduces her to a bundle of nerves."

"My back is also suffering from spasms, so much so that I had to see an acupuncturist and get prescriptions for Valium."

"After having stolen the last two elections, the Republican Mafia…"

"If Obama loses it will spark the second American Civil War. Blood will run in the streets, believe me. And it's not a coincidence that President Bush recalled soldiers from Iraq for Dick Cheney to lead against American citizens in the streets."

"Bush has transformed America into a police state, from torture to the imprisonment of reporters, to the Patriot Act."

Erik Larson, I like this story. Thank you for very good and timely advice!

Let no man pull you so low that you hate him.

ALWAYS avoid violence.

If you sow the seeds of violence in your struggle, unborn generations will reap the whirlwind of social disintegration.  ~ Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I've been wondering, how American feminism can handle the failure of the female candidates on the both side. If that happens.

thanx for the good stuff guys, and the King quote, duo. Pasi, i think that many women feel empowered just from the fact that TWO women were in the race. The next president may be a woman.
