Here is Obam-a Louisiana Plan...to bring real security and relief to the good people in Louisiana. Afterall it's not just Obama in America, it is all of the American people who either help or hinder his administration... I say we need to help.

First of all in concern to New Orleans and Louisiana.....and I have failed to write this aritcle, because of so many things I have to do in life. I believe the FEMA failure and the rescue was not successful because of our environment. We have only so many resources, and only so much money. Just how was Bush to wage War and save the people of Louisiana at the same time? Reality check.... The Oil is in Iraq that they planned to use from Iraqi; to ship to the US for relief efforts.

But the relief efforts seem hopeless...because of the location of Louisiana. Now think of  this if you will.. What happens when they get everything rebuilt and spent billions....and another bigger katrina hits? All that job activity and pollution created in the rebuilding added more global warming straws on the camels back....to then have another storm and catastrophe occur...and destroy everything that was built. Now what?

Our USA has no Land Management to the Elements of Weather Regions in the USA. We blindly have one storm after another...and go on our merry repair and rebuild efforts in a blind manner....to continue the cycle of destruction and rebuilding like a dog chasing its tail.

I am aware of Brad Pitts efforts to contribute to the rebuilding of Louisiana...but I have written to him and told him the efforts he is doing is quite in vain... Sure enough Louisiana will have another storm..You can bet on it.

So we the people need to think how we can recover and build things so there is less damage, or build buildings that can not be blown away or sunk in floods. We need to think in this level of understanding. If I am living in Louisiana I would want to live in a dome home, because dome homes withstand extreme winds...and do not blow away... Depending on where I am would determine if I made my house so it can float. Such as a House boat...or a dome house boat...so we do not lose everything. We need to think and plan our lives and communities around this self preservation concept.

And really this plan would benefit the world. Just think if Bangladesh built Dome Home House Boats, who cares if a flood comes again. Bangladesh will be floating high and dry for once. Talk about the New Venice... All areas in the world have their unique Weather Regional problems. Indonesia and the Phillippines have floods, and earthquakes not to mention tsuami threats.. So why throw all that good money at something in rebuilding to have it only rehappen again? We need this type of thinking in the US and in the World to uplift and protect our people. Thing is we have morons who run our government, and wrecklessly spend and gobble up resources until the planet literally crashes into itself like our banks have done. Believe me we need this to have real hope and stability in real communities in the US and around the world.

This renewed hope will make people feel beeter about investing in homes...without fear of losing everything. Right now in Louisiana people do not want to invest because of this.....and the high cost of insurance that is involved to rebuild, when another storm hits...But Insurance companies are tied to the failed banks in the US...and who really believes you are getting Insurance when you pay these high premiums each month to have Katrina happen and everyone gets nothing...because of the crooks on Wall Street.

Can you see the dilemma? I think we can see. Obama has no capacity to change anything in Louisiana unless he creates this new approach in the US in building according to disaster prone regions. In the South it is Hurricanes, and Floods. Texas enjoys floods, droughts, Tornado's and Hurricanes..so we need to implement Dome Home Floating Home Construction... In Florida and along the East Coast it is the same Hurricane threat, or Tsuami threat to beach fronts and inland floods.

The Midwest is tornado, and the effects of Winter Storm damage.....when spring comes and flooding occurs. We need floating homes...The homes do not need to be in water per-say.. it is just that when they are built....and floods come...they can rise and float.....and handle the stress presented.

In California it is earthquakes and Fire...that seem to ruin havoc every year. Homes need to be earthquake resilient and fireproof.  And each and every state in the US has their own unique weather regional problems they deal with on a yearly revolving basis.

So the idea is to have a Fed Plan to deal with this..so disasters are not disasters anymore. They become only alerts instead....and people get through them... Banks and Insurance companies become stable...and the threat of global warming is diminished because huge rebuilding efforts are no longer necessary.

This will also save American resources such as the lumber that is eaten up, the concrete and all the things that it takes to rebuild communities.

So I hope this gets to President Obama...so a plan can be envisioned....to help the people in prone disaster regions....

Now if he would end the war in Afghanistan...he would have more money for this project and healthcare..... His stubborn refusal to accept the light of truth..will be his fall....and he will hit hard I am afraid..if he does not act and get the donkey pulling the wagon soon.

Hope this helps...see light through the darkness of Bush and Obama.

I like this Rev!   We have a  farm  in Southeast Mo.  We live with continual reminders that we will have a huge earthquake again.   The Great New Madrid Eartquake I have often thought of what we could have to save ourselves!  The scientist say we will turn into liquid mud..there is "nothing" underneath the fault...(I think ?)

Who can afford a helicopter?  They have special boats built to be sealed like submarines..but how can anyone afford that?

You are wrong about americans thinking everything should be poured into New Orleans again! I have seen many cartoons about how silly it is because a hurricane can come again..absolutely.

Perhaps we must wake up and live as Nomads..ready to move quickly where the income can be made. ..take our house with us?  I can see this is not far fetched.

Lord knows we need to manufacture something here.

Liquid Mud?   ooooh.   Sounds real bad to me, QueensHart.   You pack up the yurt, i'll scout ahead for marauding wolves and grizzled bears.  Oh, and try to keep the coffee warm, please..................this scoutin' is hard work.  ;)

Alrighty.  Were you a boy scout?  Got some good guns?  I have a nice collection down on the farm.   I can shoot a bow and arrow wherever I want.  I am   yesiree a real cow girl rootin and tootin with a horse too!!  I used to shoot water mocassins on the shores of the lakes on our farms...they kin git real big...better have some thick boots too...up to the knees   One hit me in the middle of the back when I was in the boat.   shot up outta the water and cared the "living daylights outta me as my grannieeeeee used to say"

This is a salient obersvation about the balance humanity maintains in how we use technology to respond to our environment.

On one side of the scale, we over come our environment. We create shelter, industrialize agriculture, and create tranportation technology that allows us all to live and survive all over the globe, in places our natural disposition should normally prevent us from existing (Antartica, anyone? or better yet, Vegas?).

On the other side, we work with our environment. We harnest wind and solar energy and... hmm... can't think of too many just yet. But as we push against our planet's capacity limit for humans, it will probably be a natural progression for more of this type of ethos to take hold. Like dome house boats as Rev suggests.

Me too, Rev., your points are justified... spending billions on something when it's destruction is quite imminent is nothing but pure madness... the solutions that you provided in this article are mind blowing but gotta say, QueensHart's solution is also staggering although it seems quite odd...

Well, Nauman ...I am not quite ready to travel like a nomad..  thos I do travel alot now between granchildrens homes and seems  like a traveling home would be nice; then I could get away from "babysitting too much".

I can see it now..Americans in a type of Mobile Travel Trailer RV....that runs on steam power...and when floods come it floats like a houseboat.  I don't like the Nomad or Gypsy type of living because that process suggests the previous area we came from is worthless. What we need is to establish communities that have worth...despite the regional problematic weather or eminient disaster situations... This is part of the reason banks failed....it is not totally the Bankers fault...it is due to the conditions on the land all over America.

Certainly land and homes value shrunk because of Katrina... in Louisiana.  Likewise everyone piling in to live in a State that is relatively vacant from disasters such as some of the New England States....creates major pollution and expansionism...

So we need to create value to locations so people have worth to their property.. This means like I have suggested Pre-made Dome Homes that can float in times of disaster.

Americans need jobs right? So if we start taking this concept to mind and start working...and supported by the US Congress and Senate.....we will achieve a solid new beginning. From an Industrial Technology work sector to an Environmental Regional Weather Disaster Prevention Developmental Work Sector.

Think of all the floating Dome Homes that can be used to reconstruct disaster regions throughout the world. The Philippines come to mind to me at this moment... Also Dome Homes Boats sold and constructed in Indonesia.

We need to take this course of action...It is responsible and forward looking.

There should be schools such as Universities that offer degrees in this speciality. A degree in Community Security....What to call it? Anyone have some ideas?  Regional Disaster Prevention Degree? I need people to help me brainstorm what to call this.  Universities can be called.. The University of Regional Anti-Disaster Prevention.

The government calls such people engineers or Army Corp of Engineers...but they have been totally inept ...and does not pinpoint or suggest the value to the name of the work involved in doing.  I would think this system of education and degree knowledge would be the main center piece to job creation and creativity in the US... Making our homes and Nations disaster proof is more than a science I think.

I will send this to my nephew who works on this sort of thing in Missouri Disaster Prep and see what ideas he can generate.

Roy,rng and Acp should put an idea or two...I will email them.  RNG always has ideas.

Think about all the people now who work from their homes via computer or travel by plane or car all the time.. Obama surely has taken to his ability to jet set now.  He does not want to stay in the whitehouse...I bet he could not be in one place for one full week without t cartons of cigarettes...much less sitting at a desk and working. It is not a good sign.. Why can't people see all the signs there?
