Monday begins the start of Passover. The Obama's will have Seder with family and friends. This is the name of the start of the celebration. Many traditions are involved when having Sedar. It goes back to when the Jews were led out of bondage in Egypt.

Only foods that are "Kosher for Passover" are allowed. No leavened (containing yeast) foods or grains are eaten.

At Monday's Seder meal, dozens of families will be reading the traditional tableside ceremony from a Haggadah, a text guiding the Seder, that they have personalized by uploading family photos to replace stock illustrations of Pharaoh and the slaves.

The tradition is backed by belief that Jewish slaves when leaving Egypt. Were in such a hurry to leave that they could not afford to wait for the bread to rise. Preferring to save time by eating unleavened bread.
