Fairbanks...AK47you need a proper license in the US, thanks for Info. If we look today to Mumbai India, the Terrorists used exactly AK47 assault weapons. So stays the question, why is the sales of AK47 up 50% in the US, if anyway you need a license ? What have people in mind with or without license to buy this military weapons ?

SOLARLIFE, AK47 and other military style weapons are not generally sold with full auto. Full auto requires a special permit.

I own a semi-auto AK clone, I'm not a "threat" to my neighborhood. I hunt and target shoot with it, it's easy to clean and maintain and the ammunition is cheap.
The purpose of the 2nd Ammendment to the United States Constitution is to allow the citizenry to be armed on an equal footing to a standing army, and resist a tyrannical oppressor (foreign or domestic). So the Founding Fathers intended for me or any other law abiding American Citizen to be able to own a military firearm.

Doesn't this remind you of probibition?
The Government doesn't protect me from anything, or anyone. If I was bent on killing, I could do better with my car, or propane tank, or lots of things that are uncommon to the layman. The semi-auto rifle is not a killing tool in the U.S., it's something for target shooting, learning, and satisfying curiousity about the present world, in general. My wife, my in-laws, my friends, all shoot paper targets. Is there some left wing element out there that is trying to stop inflicting horror on paper?
You folks imply that people that own firearms are out to get you are very odd. We're not out to get you, I just like to enjoy the Second Amendment and put holes in paper. If I really had it in for someone, I would not choose any firearm for the job.
