Barrack Obama told Politico an Aide filled out questionnaire but it is clear the document has notes in the Candidates own handwriting. Another Mis-speak by a Presidential candidate? When are these guys and woman going to get the fact that people have the ability to check facts. Shredders don't get it all now. We are in the electronic age. So Obama wants public employees to have the right to strike, wants Judges with racial proportions not just ability and merit, wants all hand guns banned from sale and possession. Yes it's an election year and people drift right or left based on focus groups and polsters. I am sorry if you thought he was a motivating truthful man. Time to awake from your dream. You want Change? Well, you got it, Obama will change again in the general election.

But the questionnaires provide fodder to question BarackObama’s ideological consistency and electability.

During his first run for elected office, Barack Obama played a greater role than his aides now acknowledge in crafting liberal stands on gun control, the death penalty and abortion — positions that appear at odds with the more moderate image he has projected during his presidential campaign.

The evidence comes from an amended version of an Illinois voter group’s detailed questionnaire, filed under his name during his 1996 bid for a state Senate seat.

Late last year, in response to a Politico story about Obama’s answers to the original questionnaire, his aides said he “never saw or approved” the questionnaire.

They asserted the responses were filled out by a campaign aide who “unintentionally mischaracterize[d] his position.”

But a Politico examination determined that Obama was actually interviewed about the issues on the questionnaire by the liberal Chicago nonprofit group that issued it. And it found that Obama — the day after sitting for the interview — filed an amended version of the questionnaire, which appears to contain Obama’s own handwritten notes added to one answer.

If he did say that, it sure is good news. Guns are America's major problem in the modern world. The less guns the better. More effort should be made to speak out against gun ownership, and speaking more about nonviolence. Owning a gun does not guarantee anyones security, does not guarantee it will stop criminals, does not guarantee it will prevent shootings. Guns do guarantee violence, does guarantee criminals get them, and does guarantee the demise of the USA. People are now, drive by shooting each other in LA on the freeway. Tell me how that is sane for positive reasons for gun ownership? They are made to kill people, it is a tool to kill people. There needs to be more education and speaking out against gun ownership, it is wrong and I will always stand against guns in the world.

Thank you for your well thought out comments. I would ask you to read the book, More Guns, Less Crime. by John R Lott The data is clear, in cities like Washington D.C. Gun possession by law abiding citizens is among the strictest in the United States, but murder rates, Rape etc remains among the highest in America. Additionally, The second Amendment to the Constitution is part of the Fabric of America. As you know, America has never successfully been invaded. When you restrict firearms to the elite, you will be subject to a dictatorship rather than a country that is ruled for the people and by the people.

America is invaded everyday because of gun ownership. More crimes are committed everyday in the US that allows guns, than the combined foreign countries in the world, who do not. American fabric is molten steel gun barrels targeted at anyone they just don't like that particular day. And that same attitude pervades it deeply within American politics. Most of the violence from Washington DC goes to prove how inept the governing body is, while the gun stops legitmate governing and condons its criminal presence and crimes from the past. In case you didn't know America is under dictatorship by the American Military. You are trying to tell me holstered America Citizen has a fighting chance against tanks, fighter jets, DU missiles, and the likes of its killing apparatus? America is not governed by the people for the people. It is governed by the Gun.

Please re-read the document:::The question about gun-control is "Do you support STATE legislation, not CONSTITUTIONAL legislation. Obama had repeatedly stated that he believes the "State" has the right to place limitations or bans on the use of guns. He leaves the interpretation of the GUN CONTROL up to the states. He does not want to ban guns from people just for the sake of banning guns. He believes people have the constitutional right to bear arms as long as it not done in a hurtful or contriteful manner. Please understand the issues and the continued contextual analysis of issues in dealing with CONSTITUTIONAL, PERSONAL and LOCAL. There is a difference. It is important that we as Americans learn to analyze, synthesize and criticize information in a constructive and methodical manner. Americans have to refrain from taking soundbyte bites and magnifying them into an all knowing truth.

I Think Obama is an IDIOT and should'nt be President. His position on Handguns are stupid and is an OBOMANATION. We should come together and through Him out of polotics. I belive he only wants to band Handguns because he's affraid people will use them to Kill him. And if anyone does I applaud them.

Also, spell right. You make the gun owners look a bit slow.

It is proven a million times that banning guns does not decrease crime. Look at DC.
Also, the Supreme Court will tell Obama to go smoke one. He cant take that right away. Its not his call. This is not a dictatorship...yet.

djermano: you are an odd bird. I can speak from being a Texan. Here, there will be no ban on guns. You would have a riot. Banning guns is just a moot point. (see above).
America is not under a dictatorship from the military. I have no idea where you think these ideas up. They are unfounded and misguided.
