NP Rank:
Obama's contempt for majority
I found the phrase “contempt for the majority” in the Washington Post story describing Obama’s position against Arizona’s immigration law. Apparently, Obama has contempt for his fellow Democrats as well as they say he isn’t helping them win reelection.
“Contempt” could very well emerge as a new descriptive for the President as he marches to his own drummer. He makes promises and when it seems too hard to keep them, he side steps leaving you holding the bag. Sound familiar? It does to Nancy and Harry.
“"Not only does this lawsuit reveal the Obama administration's contempt for immigration laws and the people of Arizona, it reveals contempt for the majority of the American people who support Arizona's efforts," 20 House Republicans said in a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, Jr. who administration officials said decided last week to challenge the law. President Obama, who had voiced strong opposition to the legislation, was briefed in the past few days, officials said.”

Obama deserves all the credit he can get.
George Bush or John McCain could never have had a hope in hell of putting all the things over on people he has since he was inaugurated the way Obama has managed to do, and at the same time seduce them into believing they're supporting radical change.
With a lifetime of sales behind me I have to admit that Barack Obama has got to be one of the most extraordinarily gifted salesmen I think I've ever seen.
He's truly a magician, I think. I halfway expect him to pull an eleven dimensional rabbit out of an invisible hat any day now, and literally blow us all away.
If he lasts longer than one term.

His personal skills and intellect are astounding. There are other factors, however.

John McCain would probably have made changes to the Republican policies put in place by Bush. Obama seems to be keeping them all operational even after his election promises to be a model of "change you can believe in."

That's what he was put there to do, yes. Besides to coopt the anti-war and anti-torture movements with a bait and switch campaign.
