LAPD Tries to Block Media from Covering Occupy Los Angeles Eviction

What is the LAPD trying to hide? We're left wondering why the police are keeping journalists away from the Occupy Los Angeles site, as busloads of cops show up for the scheduled eviction of the demonstrators.

Hopefully the police won't trot out the tired excuse of trying to "protect" journalists, because that would just be silly.

Doesn't the LAPD realize that the #OccupyLA crowd can use their phones to take photos and videos? While Los Angeles' finest have "allowed" only 12 reporters to cover the impending eviction (in violation of the First Amendment, for those keeping track at home), perhaps they've forgotten about the demonstrators themselves.

We haven't.

You can watch live video from Occupy Los Angeles via the UStream widgets below.

The LAPD cannot actually stop media coverage of Occupy Los Angeles.

Below you can see a Twitter feed, following the #OccupyLA hashtag. Also, you can see some YouTube videos uploaded as the eviction looms.

While I am a big fan of media transparency, I also know that OWS and various flavors of such have a well orchestrated plan to get the local authorities placed in the worst possible light.

As I view videos that have been submitted to our site as 'atrocities' are high pitched woman screaming" that are  in-congruent to actions being taken.

We are hearing that effort is being taken to create situations that make the local governments appear to be using excessive force in dealing with the OWS protests to sway public opinion.

Seems to me, that strategists are involved here as the PR is too well coordinated.

The Bans on Media is inappropriate, but they are up against PR firms hoping to plaster any non lethal force removal as fodder for the left media.
