NP Rank:
Oklahoma Soldier Facing Miscarriage of Justice
Army Ranger 1st Lt. Michael Behenna of Edmond, Okla., was convicted of executing an Iraqi detainee, Ali Mansur, on May 16, 2008, according to a recent report at NewsOK.com. Many, including a bipartisan group of more than two dozen prominent Oklahoma attorneys, are waging a campaign to have the conviction overturned. Recently, they sent this letter to Secretary of the Army Pete Green, seeking his help in “preventing a miscarriage of justice.”
Watch this video, then read the letter. If, afterward, you’re convinced as I am that Lieutenant Behenna’s conviction should be overturned, send a letter of your own to Secretary Green at the address below:
Hon. Pete Green

In addition I encourage you to visit the web site that’s been set up to help Lieutenant Behenna: DEFEND MICHAEL. Please do it now!

Lt. Behenna is obviously a last gasp scapegoat for the Bush administration,s failure to prosecute higher-ups and instead prosecute lower-ranking soldiers trying to carry out a mission assigned to them by those same higher-ups. When did using lethal force todefend oneself in combat brcome a crime?
