Yesterday, Hilary Clinton trounced Barack Obama winning the WestVirginia primary by gaining 67% of the vote to Obama’s 22%. The 45%margin of victory inspired the nearly bankrupt Clinton campaign, andled Hilary to exclaim that she wants the win to send a message.
Which only leads me to ask the question, what message is she trying to send?
Nationally, there are over 50 million registered democrats and yetonly 400 thousand people actually voted in the West Virginia primary.And West Virginia isn’t just a predominantly white state, it’s an allwhite state with only 3% of the population being African American. Itis also the state with the second oldest population in the country,Florida being the first. Not surprisingly another state Hilary cleanedup in.
Clinton faces nearly insurmountable odds. She’s behind in thepopular vote, the delegate count, her campaign is broke, and despitethe calls for her to to drop out, she presses on convinced that she’llbe able to sway the 300 undecided super delegates to support her.
And in our liberal, democratic society, where all men are createdequal, what better argument is there then “Old White People Like Me.”

I'm not revealing who I favor for the democratic party nomination, but as an impartial person, one has to admit...Hillary deserves credit for not backing down and refusing to retreat. Maybe it's ego. But who cares? Men have egos too. She firmly believes in this country and has that fire in her gut that says she would make the best candidate against McCain for President.
As a woman, I admire that quality. If you are a woman and have qualities like Hillary, you are a bitch. If you are a man with those qualities, it's ok, even expected. I think I'd want someone like her in my corner during the heat of the moment. I'd rather have "ruthless" than "spineless".
Just my opinion...that doesn't mean I favor one or the other. Just an observation. I believe in 1960 Kennedy was the underdog, and was even told to concede against Nixon, but Kennedy hung in there and at the last second was the underdog winner.
I really like that people have so many opinions and are talking about politics. It is so important that people become educated and learn about the process and get involved. If that means a battle between two democrats, so be it. It's getting coverage, it's making people register to vote AND vote, and it's creating 'water cooler talk'. That is what our country needs right now. Not complacency. I'm sick of lip service. Let's see people get up and do something instead of bitching and complaining.
