Olympic Torch Extinguished in Paris

The Olympic torch has been extinguished by officials and put on a bus during the Paris leg of its relay amid heavy anti-China protests. Yesterday in London it was nearly extinguished by angry protesters.

Police in France got word the protesters has planned " target="_blank" target="_blank"something spectacular" to during the torch relay.

The China PR machine needs to go into overdrive to combat the negative press they are getting in Europe.  This is clearly a black eye for the nation as it heads into the final stretch before the 2008 Summer Games.
