NP Rank:
One Big Community
How will India and China contain population growth such that the nations are sustainable? These two burgeoning populations are atop the list of places where the population already stresses the limit for sustainability. In fact the problem of continuously growing people is a challenge for every nation as our Earth is reaching the limit.
We must clean the air and water as well as stop polluting the environment.
As a global community, it is essential that we reverse the trend by determining the correct ratio of people to resources, and that will vary from location to location.
As a global people, we need to address our rules for living such that we stay in bounds on sustainability and that we achieve peaceful coexistence.
On one hand, we must respect individual freedom and the rights of local communities to pursue their ways of living. On the other hand, we must subscribe to shared laws and regulations that protect our freedom among communities and as we travel from place to place.
Nation states have served us by providing constitutions, laws and regulations. However, not all are democratic and some are severely brutal by international standards.
We have approached the point where free nations have formed coalitions to address our common interests. The European Union is an example as are the United States of America. There are coalitions among coalitions and that will surely be the trend.
Accelerating the necessity to address this subject is the plethora of peoples seeking new forms of government and assistance along the way. In addition, and as important, is that everyone everywhere have resources for sharing that constitute the basis for economy and exchange.
Pursuing a future ad hoc and chaotically as we have in the past will not satisfy immediate demands for developed and under-developed nations and people.
