Opening of 11th OIC summit in Dakar delayed two hours

The summit which was held at Le Meridien President Dakar hotel was scheduled to be opened at 10.00 a.m. local time or at 05.00 p.m. Indonesian standard time (WIB) by holding the photo sesssion with the heads of states, but the function took place two hours later.

Dozens of cameramen were ready for the picture taking of the heads of states since 10.00 a.m. at the intense heat of the sun although the weather reached only 25-27 degrees Celcius.

"Since yesterday, we also received unfixed agenda," Andi Mallarangeng, Indonesian presidential spokesman told the press when asked about the confirmation of the picture taking session.

Malaysia`s Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi`s address highlighted the opening of the OIC 11th summit. Badawi chaired the 10th summit of the OIC. Malaysia held the post of OIC chairmandship since October 2003.

Official hand over the OIC chairmanship from Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to Senegal`s President Abdoulaye Wade became the peak of the international conference.
