Opera Singer not into singing praises for Canada's Health Care

Outspoken Canadian Opera Singer Measha Brueggergosman has been transformed into an outspoken critic of Canadian Health Care. A delay in surgery that ultimately saved her life convinced her of the failings of the system.

She had gone to a Toronto hospital with throat pain and released the next day, only to be eventually rushed to hospital with a heart condition, where surgeons performed open-heart surgery on her dissected aorta. This is a fatal disorder where the mortality rate increases by 1% every hour.

In her critique of the Health Care System she says: "As patients, we're made to feel like we should be thankful for whatever we get, but that's a lie which keeps our health-care system from improving,"

She continues: "Restaurants are more technologically savvy than our health-care service providers and, while I believe in paying taxes, when a hospital doesn't listen or is patronizing or misses something they should see, our system is definitely wrong.

The delay in getting surgery that ultimately saved her life has transformed outspoken Canadian opera singer Measha Brueggergosman into an outspoken critic of the failings of Canadian health care.

Hum, Strong words in deed and yet on the one hand she makes a good point and on the other she should be grateful in deed.

She probably is grateful Paschen. I think she is a little perturbed that they misdiagnosed her the first time and the consequences that that could have had.
