Opinion: Democrats Warn of Repuplican Smears as they Smear
The other day Barack Obama warned Democrats of the impending hate fest that “racist” Republicans were going to be engaged in. He couldn’t site or prove any of it but he just threw it out there to see if it will stick. This guy is slicker than Clinton. He warns that Republicans are going to attack his wife, his patriotism, his skin color, his racist pastors, his terrorist friends. One would think these Republicans are terrible people. But what if the opposite was true? Like bullies at the playground they pull your hair and point to some quiet guy minding his business and they say ‘He did it.”
Most conservatives are not crazy about John McCain but at least he doesn’t whine like a child. Today Obama was saying “I won’t attack anyone’s patriotism in this election.’ Well why would he? John McCain’s patriotism is not an issue, Obamas is. As Obama says he will not attack anyone’s patriotism, his surrogates from Wesley Clark who many think is a veep short Lister and the MSM have been busy “swift boating” John McCain. The only problem is that John McCain didn’t hang out with Jane Fonda and lie about his comrades calling them savages.
Barack Obama would like us all to know that Wesley Clark speaks for himself. But is that true? Clark was a spokesman for Obama on a Sunday morning news show. Not CSPAN. He was there to endorse Obama for POTUS. He is part of the Democrat machine and he said that John McCain was not qualified to be POTUS. His attack on John McCain’s biggest strength with ridiculous presumptions was ridicules. It is ridicules because everyone knows that the opposite is true. John McCain’s strongest asset is that he is a hero and he has experience in the military and we are at war.
But the smears continue. Some Democrats are claiming McCain sold America out. Ben Smith of the Politico is doing his part to help Democrats see if something sticks. “But farther to the left — and among some of McCain’s conservative enemies as well — harsher attacks are circulating. Critics have accused McCain of war crimes for bombing targets in Hanoi in the 1960s. A widely read liberal blog on Sunday accused McCain of “disloyalty” during his captivity in Vietnam for his coerced participation in propaganda films and interviews after he had been tortured.” “A lot of people don’t know … that McCain made a propaganda video for the enemy while he was in captivity,” wrote Americablog.com’s John Aravosis. “Putting that bit of disloyalty aside, what exactly is McCain’s military experience that prepares him for being commander in chief?” “Getting shot down, tortured and then doing propaganda for the enemy is not command experience,”
So while Obama is warning Democrats about the “evil” Republicans his Party is busy spitting mean spirited nasty smears at McCain. Maybe the real racists and haters are the ones pointing the finger….mpress
