According to the Declaration of Independance:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

Given the recent passage of the new FISA, it may be time to seriously this.

Your Declaration of Independence quotes don't appear.  Might check your font color or just redo them.

The FISA vote sucked; I agreee.  However, I would like to see OPINION in the headline.  Though the headline might scream opinion by its wording, others will scream if the word is not there.

By the way, when I first saw the headline, I wondered "which side?" - as so many factions seemed to be riled up these days.

I think you have a lot to learn, period, for suggesting that innocent people be killed because you don't like the way a liberal-Democrat controlled Congress voted on a bill that was absolutely necessary for our government to be effective in the war against the Islamic fundamentalists.

That's right.  We only tolerates masses of innocents being killed by fundamentallist Christians and right-wing fanatics.

When it's them, we aren't fraidy cats  and actually find and punish them.  Imagine that.

However, when we can be whipped into a frenzy of fear, we will give away all of our rights, save one, to be protected from the boogey man.

However, more cowardly bombs and violence against the system is not what's needed.  It's more rational and less attacks by the system. 

No to the Weathermen.

I don't condone nor suggest that innocent people should be killed. If you read the title of the opinion, it says "Is it time for a new group like the Weathermen to appear?"

It's not just Congress, but the entire goverment system.

Absolutely necessary? I highly doubt that. As Benamin Frankin says, "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." The recent passing of this bill is a clear and direct violation of the Fourth Amendment.

What war? I don't recall Congress passing such a declaration. This 'war' is merely the result of the incumbent officers of our goverment (particularly a President with daddy issues) freaking out and shooting wildly. This war is becoming more and more like the failed "War on Drugs". Why is that? For the same reasons that "so-called" war failed.

Let me ask you this. When the goverment no longer heeds to the demands of its people, what should the people do then? Just take it?

Might be. State voters can institute recalls on non-responsive electees, but the country has no power to recall the President of Supreme court Justices if they are not responsive to the public will.

Let's see. A radical group that bombed public buildings, organized riots, and terrorized innocent civilians....all for the promotion of their own, selfish political agenda. Sure - let's have more domestic terrorism....just what we need after 9/11.
