Oppression/ liberation?

Their is no God but God and to worship him only. This has been the clear message that every Prophet from Adam to Mohammad(pbut) has brought, the message of Islam and Islamic monotheism.(the idea of one God with no partners) 

So why then are people so afraid of Islam? and so ignorant of it, believing it to be so alien and backward? Some even calling the religion against Gods will.

It beggers belief for me that the western countries who only allowed the woman the vote and rights over property fairly recently considers Islam to be oppressive towards woman whereas 1400+ years ago property and inheritance rights were layed down for woman in the Holy Quran and excecuted by the prophets sunna(pbuh)

It amazes me moreso that Islamic law(Sharia) is deemed as barbaric, have you seen what used to happen in the 1850s in Christian countries? No! ok then,

  A man shall be hung, drawn and quartered, his privy parts cut of and thrown into the fire before    his eyes. His chest is then to be cut open his heart removed and shown to the crowd, his intestines pulled forth. finally he is to be beheaded his remaining body cut into four for the king to do with as he pleases.

This implys anything fed to the kings dogs, burned, anything.

ALSO may I say this punishment is for any crime including stealing bread or hunting and killing one of the kings dear because your family are starving, this punishment does not discriminate on the grounds of sex or even age for that matter, so girl and boy childeren also suffered this fate unless of course they were given to the king as slaves or worse.

And people say that the Islamic punishment of cutting off the hand of the one who steals is barbaric?

So do tell me a religion that so long ago layed down every individuals rights, responsibilities, obligations and punishments, is it really so backwards and oppressive or have we in the west been so blinded to believe that we live in a free and liberated society?

Think about these three things

In England we have the worst rate for Rape second only to I believe America.

We have one of the worst rates of Pedophillia

We have one of the highest records for domestic violence with crimes commited by both sexes.

Now ask yourself,

Is this what we call liberation?

In these three incedences alone who here is being liberated?
