With chants of "USA, USA," revelers celebrating the death of Osama Bin Laden, the man behind the attacks, have spilled into the street, bringing traffic to a standstill.
"It's like the World Series down here," CBS News chief national correspondent Byron Pitts reported from the celebration.

For Ashley Smith, the news of Bin Laden's death brings a bit of closure. She worked two blocks from Ground Zero on the day of the attacks and was forced to run from her office for safety when the buildings collapsed. She joined the impromptu rally in lower Manhattan.

She was skeptical of the U.S.'s response initially but now says it was all worth it. "I felt like we had all of our money fighting this endless war over there, now it totally validates it," said Smith.
Diane Massaroli lost her husband, Michael, nearly 10 years ago on 9/11. She only comes to Ground Zero once a year on the anniversary of the attacks but felt compelled to come tonight.
"We can never celebrate ever since this happened. [Tonight] is sad also but it's a celebration," Massaroli said.
President Barack Obama said in an address from the White House late Sunday night that a small team of Americans carried out the operation to kill bin Laden in Pakistan, and that cooperation from Pakistani authorities was crucial.

"Shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda," Mr. Obama said. "Tonight, we can say to those who have lost loved ones to al Qaeda's terror, justice has been done."

smite the lord?? for your own presumption to know what God's plan is.. who are you to judge what he allows and what he does not allow.. never smite the Lord our God.. praise him and thank him for all you have.. someone in your family must have done something to save you some favor along time ago... do yourself a favor and your family a favor and spread the generational blessings by honoring God in your life... before it's too late for you to be able to. choose not to respond with anger and opposition and say nasty things that are ngeative and offensiv e in language, but instead choose to save yourself, or you will end up being dragged through the smoldering chains which tear bin laden's flesh from his frail bones as we speak.. he is down there with hitler and hussein and they are all afraid and alone.. their families cry out to them but they don't hear them.. they wish they had changed their hearts when they were alive here with us, but it's too late for them.. they will try to warn you too, but they can't breathe through the stench and smoke and embers.. and so they are not abale to speak.. only gasp with burning tears.. is this what you want for yourself? because it isn't what they wanted for themselves, but IT IS what they are getting.. and getting it deep like they deserve..everlasting.

i dont see myself believin a word about bin laden,s death, we all were spectators when saddam was caught, i still remember watching doctors opening his mouth and taking mouth fluid for test to determine if really he is saddam, and i just think that bin laden is a worst terrorist than saddam, why then do they have to bury his body hurridly without analysies to prove that really he is osama bin laden. why were they not able to wait till morning even, this is a whole cover up of the story of his death,either to bring calm ness to the globe and send a warning to terrorist and its a good idea, but for people like me, the fact remain that osama may be alive and if dead , then he probably was not kill by any us attack. but lets us just pray that he,s dead , cos he deserve even more than death.

If you say hell does not exist it means you have looked at all possible locations in the known and unknown universe and determined that no place has the same characteristics as hell. Which means you in your short life you have looked everywhere. You know good on the yanks they persisted where others failed and who got the job done, a thing such as Bin Laden needed to be exterminated from birth if only it was possible to know what he was capable of before the death of so many innocent people. It's about time the rest of his followers realise that there is no future for them during life or after death.
