It's not always appropriate to celebrate the death of a human being, but to many the death of Osama bin Laden appears is an exception. Thousands gathered at Ground Zero to celebrate the death of bin Laden and honor those who died on 9/11.

Huge numbers of people spontaneously gathered outside the White House, cheering, waving US flags, and chanting "USA! USA!" CNN reported that some outside the White House shouted "Yes we can! Yes we can!"

Celebrations also broke out on college campuses across the USA.
