Maybe the best way to diffuse tension with Iran and to achieve desired results is through a campaign of outreach to moderates by unofficial, nongovernmental organizations and channels. The US State Department could quietly support an initiative of this sort, though leadership should come from professional and academic organizations seeking to diffuse violence.

Make no mistake, the organizations would have to be constantly reminded that Iran’s official government leaders cannot be trusted and are blatantly and transparently manipulative. The appeal should be aimed at developing a groundswell among Iranians who simply want peaceful coexistence with the rest of the free world.

Gates: U.S. Not Ready to Talk About Containing a Nuclear Iran

Though Iran could have enough nuclear bomb-making material as early as next year, the top U.S. defense official said Sunday that the Obama administration is not prepared "to even talk about containing a nuclear Iran."

Speaking on "Fox News Sunday," Defense Secretary Robert Gates said that all options are still on the table if Iran were to go nuclear, but he thinks there is still "some time to continue working this problem," conceivably  through the use of economic sanctions.

"I don't think we're prepared to even talk about containing a nuclear Iran. I think we're -- we -- our view still is we -- we do not accept the idea of Iran having nuclear weapons. And our policies and our efforts are all aimed at preventing that from happening," he said.

Gates said "targeted economic pressures" has "real potential" to add difficulties to the Islamic Republic, whose government is growing increasingly isolated.

Sanctions, he said, along with helping U.S. allies in the Gulf area improve their defenses and improve their military capabilities could get the government in Tehran "finally to come to their senses and realize their security is probably more endangered by going forward than by stopping."”

Once again, Robert Gates is the leader among the less focused on matters of State.

Featuring women in this post is not accidental. Women have the intellect to break the shackles of this ridiculousness and propel all of us forward. For success, there must and will be martyrs.

If one has friends like uncle-Sam-the rouge, one doesn't need avowed enemies.Iranians know it.They have learnt their lessons after burning their fingers.Overthrow of Mosadeq and reinstallation of US appointed head constable in the Middle-East, Shah of Iran,Iranians of later generations, progressives or conservatives alike, won't forget.US imperialists should treat Iran as lost case.Rabert Gates has proved on other occassions as well that he is mentally not very sound. And Hillary spits venom, this is what  she was appointed for.

Moderates are every where except in US administration.

If a sufficient number of Iranian women can secure the nations' future, they might rename it Venus.
