This summer is probably the last time this farm sees a crop in the fields. Our sleepy little town is growing east, towards this farm, quite quickly. This farm is actually surrounded by development. Student housing across the street, the new social security office to the left of the property, a McDonalds, Burger King, Food Lion, Blockbuster, etc right down the road. I can’t tell you how many times I've driven by this farm and just taken for granted that it is going to be there next year and the year after that. The truth is this property is probably making its final stand.

This afternoon on the way to my favorite watering hole the light was shining down just on this farm, begging for a photo. It does pay to carry your equipment where ever you go!
