Vancouver Police are releasing details of an overnight shooting. Around 1:30 a.m. on the morning of August 6th, Vancouver Police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Trafalgar Street and West 15th Avenue. Several callers to 9-1-1 reported hearing the sound of gunfire and squealing tires in the north lane of the 2500 block of West 15th.

Officers arrived to find a Dodge minivan had collided with several parked cars before coming to rest in the 2700 block of West 16th Avenue. The 29 year old male driver was taken to hospital for assessment, but suffered no injuries related to the shooting.

Investigators from the VPD Robbery/Assault Squad believe this is a targeted incident and that the suspect or suspects were waiting in the lane when the van drove through.

Yes, I heard 3 shota about 1:30 a.m. & saw a car speed away going east on W 15th. I saw an older car, parked in front of my house, no one in it, & a man on foot,  with a very strong flashlight pointing it to houses  to the south side of W 15th & then seemed to target it to a house across the street , on the North side. I suspected it was the police. The people in that house put their porch light on, for a few moments.. By 5:00 am when I woke up the old car in fornt of my house was gone.I live 2556 W. 15th Ave., 604-733-6629.I really do not have a lot to report different from your other informants. Just to confirm it was 3 shots. 1, then 2.  Hope it helps.Ruth
