Owner Abandons Limping Dog: Act Caught on CCTV
Police Are Looking For a Man Who Was Caught on CCTV Abandoning His Shetland Cross Terrier in a Car Park
The man has not been identified but he was caught on CCTV in a car park in the UK looking like he was going to take his dog for a walk.
The dog is limping because its claws are too long but at the beginning of the video she is walking alongside her owner as if they are going to go for a walk. The man then turns around, goes back to his Rio and drives away. The dog, nicknamed Ginger, tries to follow but has to stop due to her limp.
Office workers nearby saw what happened and ran outside and took the dog inside. 'Ginger' is now waiting to be rehomed.
The video is fuzzy, but police are hoping someone might know what happened and can identify this man to police.
The incident is similar to that of Mary Bale, the lady who was caught dumping a kitten into a wheelie bin back in August.
She has now been charged with two counts of animal cruelty, but police are concerned Ms. Bale's legacy will be one of copycat pranks, after a five-month old kitten named Smokie was found in a garbage dump.
The kitten belonged to Philip and Susan Hirons from Hull and Mr. Hirons said:
"There's no way he could have got in the bin by accident. He was put in the wheelie bin and then thrown into one of the containers at the recycling centre.
These pet owners and many others are now concerned that their outdoor pets may be prey to people thinking animal cruelty of this nature is funny; even Mary Bale herself said she thought it would be funny when she put Lola in the wheelie bin.
Smokie's owners cannot believe it:
"How did they sleep knowing he was hungry, cold, frightened and about to go into the landfill site and get buried alive?
"Smokie is just a kitten. How can someone just pick such a little thing up and dump it in a bin?"
