A hostage crisis in Oxford, MS, has come to an end with one person dead and a suspect in custody. The hostage taking occurred inside a private home and was a domestic incident. The suspect took his brother hostage inside their parent's home and killed him. The unnamed suspect is now in custody and police say he was recently released from a mental institution.

Oxford Police Chief Mike Martin said the suspect locked himself inside his parents' home in the 1600 block of Grand Oaks Boulevard, where he shot and killed his brother.

Investigators say they believe the suspect was recently released from a mental health facility.

Chopper 5 captured exclusive footage of the suspect being placed in a police car.
