Pachuca vs. Cruz Azul Play in Empty Stadium Due to Flu Epidemy

Cruz Azul and Pachuca are playing at an empty stadium right now. All public events were canceled due to the existing epidemy in Mexico City, Mexico State and San Luis Potosi.It is not the first time Pachuca Cruz Azul play at closed doors. They played on November 2007 due to disciplinary sanctions.
Classes and religious services have been canceled as well in an effort to stop the epidemy from spreading.
Las autoridades sanitarias del Estado de Hidalgo, en consulta con la Federación Mexicana de Fútbol determinaron que el encuentro a realizarse el sábado 25 de abril a las 19:00 horas, en el estadio Hidalgo entre los equipos de Pachuca y Cruz Azul, también se juegue a puerta cerrada.
Dicha determinación se toma en solidaridad con las medias implementadas por las autoridades sanitarias.
Dicha medida se solidariza con el acuerdo de que también los encuentros Pumas vs. Guadalajara y América vs. Universidad Autónoma
Two soccer matches in Mexico City will be played behind closed doors due to a deadly outbreak of a previously unknown strain of flu in the country, the Mexican Football Federation said on Friday. Guadalajara and America, Mexico's most popular teams, will play Pumas and Tecos respectively in league matches on Sunday -- but normally packed spectator stands will be empty. "This decision is being taken with the full awareness of the clubs to comply with the measures implemented by the health authorities," the federation said in a statement.
