Bajaur- Mamund Tribe Loya Jirga (Grand Council) Meeting (October 4, 2008)
0n 2 October a long march was organized and walks upto 10 km towards the agency head quarter Khar. More than 150000 people participated in the March. At the end of the Long march it was decided that the anti terrior Movement will be further strengthen and a Grand Jirga of the Tribe will be held on 4th October 2008.
According to that determination of the long Marchers jirga of the all Mamound tribes was held in wara Mamound area. Peace force was supported by the Armed Volunteers of the tribe.
Today’s Jrga approved the following resolutions:
1- House of those who are not participates in the Grand Council activities against Islamic Militants will summoned for trail before the Tribal Council.
2- Houses of Those who provide shelter to the Militants will be burnt out and will be considered as Talib.
3- It is obligatory for all the community to Participate in the Lashkar Activities on the bases of one Person per House Hold.
4- The Jirga will generate funds.
5- The Jarga extended full support to the government decision to expel the Afghan Refugees within three days.
6- They announced on load speakers that the Peace Force will start activates against all the Talibs after 10.am 05 October 2008. Those Talibs who disarm themselves must go out from Bajaur Agency before the dateline.
7- The Peace Jrga emphasized the need of Networking with other tribes like Salarzai, Charming and Uthman Kheal.
8- All the residents will work together against all forms of terrorism and religious militancy.

Spotlights of the Meeting

• During the meeting a question was raised about the destination of the Militants that where they will go; thousands of angry participants echoed “The Taliban will go to hell” and ‘death on Talibs”.
• Malik Younas Chieftain of the sub section of the Mamound tribe while speaking on the occasion said that Momond tribe dishonored by the militants and it is shameful that women’s of the tribes give births in the hill and tents out side of home. He pointed out that for all the troubles Islamic Militant are responsible.
• While counting the miseries of the people a sensational atmosphere was created when an elder of the tribe wiped out. It was really a great occasion of grief and gloom.
