Pakistan: Forces Remain On Killing Spree In Bajaur
Tribesmen of Bajaur Agency have passed another hard day as Pakistani security forces backed by jet fighters and gunship helicopters Sunday continued pounding the areas with heavy bombs. There reports of large-scale death and destruction in the area, but they could not be confirmed as there is still fierce fighting in the areas. No one can enter the affected areas. There are also reports of deaths of women and children. People have also been dying of hunger and other related problems as there is dearth of essential food items.
At least 19 more militants have been killed as security forces attacked militant hideouts in various parts of Bajaur Agency.
Jet planes and gun-ship helicopters were used in the attacks that inflicted heavy casualties on the militants in Tang Khatta, Shakai and Lowi Sam areas of the Agency.
After having consolidated their positions in Lowi Sam, the security forces are now advancing towards the strongholds of Taliban in the mountainous areas of Charmang, Nawagai, Mamond and Tehsils.
Jet planes today pounded the hideouts of militants killing 19 and destroying many terrorist hideouts. Moreover, curfew is still in place in Inayat Kalay area of Bajaur Agency as shelling from gun-ship helicopters continue.
Due to the curfew, markets and business centers are closed and people are facing difficulties in buying food and other essential commodities.
