ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday lodged strong protest over the incident of Angoor Adda near the country’s border with Afghanistan which claimed 20 innocent lives.
After the incident, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry summoned US Ambassador Anne W Patterson and vehemently condemned the attack of coalition forces on a village near Angoor Adda inside Pakistan and termed it a gross violation of Pakistan’s territory. Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir held a half-hour meeting with the US ambassador during which he strongly denounced the action of allied forces on Pakistan soil. It was made clear to the ambassador that this kind of action could affect the cooperation being extended by Pakistan to the US in its war on terror. The US ambassador reportedly said she would convey Pakistan’s reaction to the US government.

Hussain, Good Story. I think in this war on terror civilians have become biggest hit. Hope US ambassador can get the messages and stop killing innocent civilians.

hussain, I like this story. It's good stuff. I always wonder with reports like this on who gets to determine who is innocent or not. If the Taliban or Pakistani Intelligence Service had their way everyone that was ever killed by the US government would be called a innocent victim and if the US Military had their way everyone would be called an enemy combatant. Does it make someone innocent simply if they are younger than 15 and or female? And does it make someone an enemy simply by being born into a family of terrorists.

Yes, you have a very important point. But keep in mind that Pakistani intelligence services are not supporting Taliban, as combined by you together, rather they are supporting the invaders. Secondly, the word 'terrorist' is being misused to kill Afghans and Pakistanis in this so-called war on terror. Why do you people in the US and Europe blindly believe that all Afghans and Pakistanis are terrorists. In fact, it is the other way round and many in Pakistan and Afghanistan believe that it is not 'war on terror' but 'war on terror'. There may be a lot of justification for invasion of Afghanistan but the way people being killed by the US and Nato forces shows the pretext was created to invade Afghanistan and destabilise Pakistan (or may be at a later stay invade as being talked about by the Americans nowadays). A couple of weeks ago, the US troops killed 90 Afghan civilians including 60 children but the invaders later admitted that only civilians were killed, whereas the UN (which of course serves the US interests as its prime duty) and officials of the puppet Afghan regime (installed by Bush and Co) both were unanimously that 90 civilians including children and women were killed.
