In Pakistan the floods are worsening more and more and aid agencies are calling international help, as BBC reported today. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Taliban refused foreign aid for the flood disaster with fear that it will be corrupted by officials. When the floods were killing people in Pakistan, President Zardari was visiting Europe instead of coordinating things at hope. So, is it not the fear of Pakistan Taliban right that the aid will be corrupted by such leaders who have no concern to their people? See BBC’s report below Call for more aid for flood-hit Pakistan Nearly 14 million Pakistanis have been affected by the floods Aid agencies in Pakistan have warned that unless there is more international help, many more people will die as floods now inundate southern areas. The United Nations is to launch a fresh appeal on Wednesday to help 14 million people affected by the deluge. It says that so far about 1,600 people have been killed. The UK charity, Oxfam, has described the floods as a "mega disaster" which require a "mega response". It says that so far that has not been forthcoming. Meanwhile, the Pakistani Taliban has urged the government to reject Western aid for flood victims. It says the money will only be siphoned off by corrupt officials. On Tuesday, President Asif Ali Zardari returned to his flood-stricken country, after a foreign tour which was widely criticised. He has been criticised for not being at home to oversee the government's response to the disaster and continued his visit to Europe as the floods worsened.
