Unknown gunmen kill official of Iranian consulate

PESHAWAR Nov 12 : Gunmen shot dead Director Public Relations of Iranian consulate in Peshawar on Thursday, police said.Police sources said that the attackers opened fired on Abdul Hasan Jaffery near his home in Gulbarg area when he was heading to his office in his car.

Police said Jaffery critically injured in firing and died later in military hospital of wounds.Abul Hasan Jaffery,52, had been working in Iranian consulate for 22 years.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack.Witnesses said that two gunmen riding motorcycle fled after the incident.

In November last year, gunmen had kidnapped Iranian commercial attaché in Peshawar, who has been missing since then.The Iranian Ambassador in Islamabad Masha’Allah Shakeri condemned the attack and said security of the Iranian employees is responsibility of the Pakistani government.
