Video Highlights of Pakistan vs Zimbabwe 1st ODI Match 27 August 2013. Zimbabwe go 1-0 up as they beat Pakistan by seven wickets in the first of the three one-day international series, played in Harare on Tuesday.This was the first time Zimbabwe had overcome Pakistan since 1998.
Openers Hamilton Masakadza and Vusi Sibanda set up the platform perfectly as they put on a first wicket partnership of 107 runs before Sibanda failed to read the conventional delivery from Saeed Ajmal and played outside the line to be hit straight in front of off and middle, for 54 runs.
Masakadza was Ajmal’s second wicket as he tried to make a last minute adjustment onto the back foot but found Misbah-ul-Haq at short cover for 85, which included 9 fours and a six. Ajmal ended with figures of two wickets for 44 runs from 10 overs.
As the match progressed in became increasingly apparent that the 245 target wasn’t enough on this track and skipper Brendan Taylor and Sean Williams saw the hosts home with 43 and 39 respectively, albeit assisted by some pretty ordinary fielding and catching by the Pakistanis at times.
Earlier, Misbah-ul-Haq hit a crucial half-century in his 50th consecutive match as Pakistan's one-day captain, but saw his side kept in check by the Zimbabweans.
Zimbabwe lead the three match series 1-0. The next one-day international takes places on at the same venue on Thursday, August 29.
