Pakistan War on terror turned a new phase

Situation in the conflict zone in northeran pakistan  were monitored through print and electronic media and  the newly arrived  IDPs were interviewd who are eyewitness to the local situation.

1)       FATA –

- In Muhmand agency fierce fighting were continued thought the week and roads were partially closed particularly in the conflict zones. Most affected villages and towns were located in upper Muhmand agency.

- In Bajaur the military forces advanced to the mountainous areas of Charmang tehsil where the Islamic combatants have strongholds and have set up bunkers and trenches. The forces targeted militants hideouts in Karkani, Kohi, Hashim, Ziarat, Mattak,and Manogi areas of the Charmang tehsils with heavy weaponry, including mortars, and cannons, to establish government writ in the combatants –infested region.

 

2)       Malakand division

-In distrct SWAT Kabal and Shamozi were the targets of the military aggressive strategy. Displacements from those areas were continuing as previously people of those areas were unable to come out due to curfew and intense fighting in the surrounding areas.

 

-Previous week situation in District Buner was remain sound and in the wake of the week it was deem that  some of the families from Buner will start return in the wake of the week but due bomb blasts in different parts of the district the IDPs were reluctant to return.

 

In distract Dir due to fierce fighting between the Islamic militants and the local Lashkar displacement is continue and the lashker killed 35 militanats (Talibs)
