Besides other steps to overcome the poblem of militancy in the counry's tribal region bordering Afghanistan, the Pakistan government plans to introduce drastic changes in the law that was enforced the British to government the region.

Pakistan government has drafted drastic changes in the coercive Frontier Crimes Regulations (FCR), which govern life in the restive tribal areas bordering Afghanistan, including allowing the right of appeal against actions of political agents or district coordination officers in some tribal regions.

Official sources said here Tuesday the FCR, in force in the seven tribal agencies and six frontier regions, basically deals with procedure for settling inter-tribal matters.
