A Pakistani court on Friday set incarcerated top nuclear scientist of the country free, directing the government to provide him VVIP security immediately.
Talking to private television channel, Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan, who is known as father of Pakistan's nuclear bomb, said he would devote his time for promotion of education and establishment of welfare organisations in the country.
When asked to comment on his house arrest for the past few years, Dr Khan did not say anything and said let the past be past.
When asked about legal action against former president Pervez Musharraf, the nuclear scientist, who commands immense respect among Pakistan people, said he would not do so. However, he added, he would like to ask Musharraf to accompany him to any busiest spot of Islamabad or neighbouring Rawalpindi and he is sure people to torn apart dress of Musharraf, compelling him (Dr Khan) to give his shirt to cover private parts of Musharraf's body.
Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday has declared atomic scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan a free citizen and abolished his house arrest.
Chief Justice of IHC Sardar Muhammad Aslam while announcing a verdict on several petitions filed against house arrest of Dr. A.Q Khan declared him a free citizen and said that he is free to move across the country. The allegations of nuclear proliferation against him have not been 'substantiated'.
Due to security reasons, Dr. Khan should inform government about his movement in advance.
The verdict has directed the government to provide security to Dr. Khan on immediate basis. VVIP security would be given to him.
Dr. Khan is free to express his views, talk to media and carry out research and get treatment of doctor of his own choice.

Celebrated nuclear scientist, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan has said, “I am satisfied with the decision of the court, setting me free is a matter between me and the government, this has no connection with the US and added that after having received the decision, the situation would merge.”

Talking to media at his residence after a court decision terminated his detention, set him free and allowed him freedom of expression, he said that he didn’t want to delve in the past incidents, he only wanted the development of the country, “I pray that the God save the country.” He said he would not get involved in politics, the world was against him, but he remained safe due to security.

Dr. Qadeer said that the God has already punished General (retd.) Pervez Musharraf, as he can’t freely come out on the roads today. When quizzed, he said that he would not take action against anybody for keeping him in detention. He said that he would be focusing on education and setting up of welfare organizations would be my top priority. He told that he couldn’t go to Karachi for condoling the deaths of his sister-in-law and niece, therefore, he would first of all go to Karachi and try going on Umra.

I think Pakistani government treated him very shabbily. He helped world's first Muslim country to achieve nuke capability but still kept in prison. He deserved much better treatment. Good Post.

Sanjay, thanks for recommendation and comment. Yes he deserved more respect than anybody else in the country but unfortunately a dictator maked mockery of his contribution to the country's nuclear programme. However, the latest court ruling has sent a wave of joy across the country because people of Pakistan respect him more than the rulers of the country.

Well, he seems bitter and maybe rightfully so. However as far as I recall he did give away States secrets illegally to other nations, wish is treason in any country.

No it is not so but it were others who might have given state secret to other nations and he was made a scapegoat to save those hidden faces.

Only thing I can think of...

The Taliban - ISI - Al-Quaida nexus exist in tribal areas of Pakistan would have bought the judges and made him free. Maybe Bin Laden himself would have paid the cash directly to the judges.

So much for a failed country's judicial system :))

This looney  had not right to test his deadly weapons on our homeland, Baluchistan. He is the most dangerous man on earth and should be jailed for his underworld nukes smuggling bazaar.

Will we ever know if he is villian or hero or puppet??

No need to wait. He is hero whether anybody accepts it or not. He played pivotal role in making Pakistan a nuclear state and had he not shouldered the responsibility, the Hindu extremists of India would so far have occupied Pakistan or at least destroyed the country.
