Pakistani militants threatens to kill kidnapped Polish engineer

Militants who had kidnapped a Polish engineer in September last year on Thursday set February 4 deadline for the Pakistan government to accept their demands, warning that otherwise they would kill the captive.
The Darra Adamkhel chapter of the outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) threatened to kill Polish engineer Peter Stanczak on February 4 if the government did not accept their demands. Talking to media persons by phone from an undisclosed location, TTP Darra Adamkhel spokesman Muhammad set February 4 deadline for release of militants imprisoned in various jails and in the custody of intelligence agencies and halt to military operations in tribal areas, including Darra Adamkhel, Bajaur, Swat, Waziristan. Otherwise, he said, they (militants) would kill Engineer Peter as part of their fight against the government.
The spokesman of the banned organisation also warned the United States to stop drone attacks, saying the attacks were being carried out in connivance with the Pakistan government.
Polish Engineer Peter Stanczak was working with Poland National Seismic Survey in Pind Sultani area of Attock district, bordering the troubled North West Frontier Province of Pakistan, when militants kidnapped him on September 28, 2008. His driver Inayatullah, guard Muhammad Saleem and Public Relations Officer Riaz were killed by the militants on the spot.
On October 14 last, the militants issued a video in which Polish Engineer Peter appealed to the Pakistani and Polish governments to secure his release at any cost.

Yes, we should hope of good but the militants are dangerous people and can do anything. I have no update on the issue as yet. Whenever I got something new, I would post it at NP.

He was probably killed today in the night, but it's not for sure yet ( hope it's not truth). Polish govermanet did nothing to save his life...

Not officialy comfirmed, but very little chances to be untrue that Polish engineer was killed. That`s what our Prime Minister said. He also claimed that "Polish government did everything in it`s force to save the kidnapped Pole", political bullshit...

Polish Government explicitly stated on the day of announcement of engineer death that the part of Polish Army leaving Irak are about to go to Pakistan. The purpose of the mission has not been yet declared.

Procedures of using Special Forces at territory of another country are much more difficult than you can imagine. The truth is, that GROM was formed to help our citizens is such situations, but the truth also is, that our country don`t spend enough money for equipment which is necesarry in that case - this is tragedy itselfs, and causes another tragedies as we can now see.

in the end the taliban wanted the pakistani governmemt to release just 4 taliban but the pakistani government refused.
had it been a US citizen the Americans would have kicked the pakistani goverbnment and the American would have been rescued.
the same had happened in PIA hijacking of 1981 when the Pakistani government had accepted all AZO demands when they had threatened to kill a US citizen on board.
The Americans know how to kick the pakistani government !
Life goes on ! Life of a Pole is far cheaper in the eyes of the Pakistani government than a US citizen !
