The police in Pakistan's North West Frontier Province (NWFP) have failed to recover the kidnapped Afghan and Iranian diplomats, however, they have proposed setting up of a diplomatic enclave in the provincial capital, Peshawar, for ensuring security of the foreign diplomats.

Police failed to make any progress regarding recovery of abducted Afghan and Iranian diplomats on Wednesday.

However, Police said it has finalized recommendations including setting up of diplomatic zone for the protection of foreign diplomats in the provincial capital.

Taking to Geo News, SSP Kashif Alam said that police is probing the kidnapping of Iran’s commercial attaché Hashmatullah Atharzade and Afghan’s ambassador-designate Abdul Khaliq Farahi.

“We have drafted the final recommendations aimed at safeguarding foreign diplomats in future.” These recommendations, he said, would be forwarded to the federal government soon.

Alam said that situation would improve after construction of diplomatic enclave in Peshawar.
