Zardari dating sarah palin __
Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin seems to be a hit among the heads of third world countries. She may be struggling to win the hearts of American voters but she has already made a good impression on the leaders of South Asia. Pakistan's newly elected widower President was mesmerised by her beauty.
"Gorgeous," this is how Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari described Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin when she met him in New York."You look so gorgeous. Now, I know why the whole of America is crazy about you," Zardari said, while receiving Palin, also the Governor of Alaska, at the Millenium  Hotel in New York."You are so nice," 44-year-old Palin, a former Miss Wasilla runner up in Alaska beauty pageant, told Zardari, husband of slain former Pakistani Premier Benazir Bhutto. An aide of Zardari then told the two to keep shaking hands for the cameras."I'm supposed to pose again," said Palin, who has energised the Republican Presidential nominee John McCain's camp."If he's (aide) insisting, I might hug," 53-year-old Zardari replied, for which Palin smiled politely in response. The conversation was captured on a camera and telecast later.

But her meeting was much different with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh  Singh was very sober unlike Zardari who tried to charm her with smooth talk and flattery.  The Indian Prime Minister couldn't meet Palin's running mate McCain.

On Wednesday, McCain threw her to the wolves, keeping himself busy with the economic crisis while sending Palin to meet with various world leaders attending the UN Session in New York, including India’s prime minister Manmohan Singh and Pakistan’s president Asif Ali Zardari. All in an effort, it seemed, to get her some heavyweight foreign policy exposure.

How did it go? No one quite knows, because Palin’s minders, intent on shielding her from a predatory liberal media, provided limited photo-op look-in to the press, leading to spotty, hyperbolic accounts.

Indian officials present at the Singh’s meeting with Palin said she was an interested listener as the Prime Minister explained to her India’s position on various topics, including regional issues and energy security. Palin was originally scheduled to accompany McCain to the meeting, but the presidential candidate dropped out because of his preoccupation with the economic crisis.

After greeting Singh with a limp handshake, Palin explained his absence to the Indian leader. ''Of course, what he’s working on, the economic matters, in terms of our nation, impacts  India,'' she said gravely.

"So it is very important that he deal with those matters.'' Singh, a former economics professor himself, evidently did not mind -- McCain has been an ardent supporter of the nuclear deal -- as he launched into his tutorial.

Sanjay Jha, The balanced reporting that included Mrs. Palin's meeting with the Pakistani leader was very refreshing. Great Work.

Did she ask why Pakistani troops were attacking US helicopters? Was there any discussion of border issues or helping fight militants? No, of course not, because she doesn't have any actual power or responsibility. Why isn't Bush meeting with him?

Check out this interview with Palin, very 'impressive':

Couric: But he's been in Congress for 26 years. He's been chairman of the powerful Commerce Committee. And he has almost always sided with less regulation, not more.

Palin: He's also known as the maverick though, taking shots from his own party, and certainly taking shots from the other party. Trying to get people to understand what he's been talking about - the need to reform government.

Couric: But can you give me any other concrete examples? Because I know you've said Barack Obama is a lot of talk and no action. Can you give me any other examples in his 26 years of John McCain truly taking a stand on this?

Palin: I can give you examples of things that John McCain has done, that has shown his foresight, his pragmatism, and his leadership abilities. And that is what America needs today.

Couric: I'm just going to ask you one more time - not to belabor the point. Specific examples in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation.

Palin: I'll try to find you some and I'll bring them to you.

Oh and these are the same meetings Palin banned any press from attending. Biden has given over 80 interviews since being picked for VP, Palin has done what, 2-3? What will she be like as Vice-President, or president if McCain croaks?

Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, who has not held a press conference in nearly four weeks of campaigning, on Tuesday banned reporters from her first meetings with world leaders, allowing access only to photographers and a television crew.

CNN, which was providing the television coverage for news organizations, decided to pull its TV crew, effectively denying Palin the high visibility she had sought.

Sanjay Jha, I like this story. It's good stuff.

No one will say any thing bad to her since she is just a VP nominee and nothing really of importance yet and once she is VP if she ever be VP then the gloves will come of on both all sides.

Shut up Paki. I am a Pakistani too and I was shocked to hear Zardari say this! You should also mind your own thoughts. You are making a point that Zardari was taking revenge of Afia? ha!

Be ashamed of youself and your elected president.
