Pakistani Taliban blew up 300 year old mosque to prevent women
This is not done by "infidels". This did not happen in a non-muslim country. This was not a mosque where worship is discontinued, but busy with devotees.
No CIA, ISI or Mossad hand is suspected behind this - confirmed Pakistani,Afghani and the local government.
Taliban blow up 17th century sufi shrine in Peshawar.
*Building badly damaged in attack, no casualties
* Locals say attack likely carried out to stop women from visiting Rehman Baba’s shrine.By Manzoor Ali Shah
PESHAWAR: Suspected Taliban blew an ancient shrine of a 17th century sufi poet – Rehman Baba – in Akhund Baba graveyard early on Thursday, said locals and police, with the AP news agency reporting that a letter delivered three days before the attack to the management of the mausoleum had warned against its promotion of ‘shrine culture’.
The white-marble shrine was badly damaged when explosives planted along its pillars went off at around 5:10am. There were no casualties.
Women: Locals said the administration had also been warned before the attack to stop women from visiting the shrine.

Esta, story behind this is simple.
Keep the women in darkness. Women those who are educated , seen and understood the real world is a threat to fundamentalists. Fundamentalism thrive in ignorant minds. They need generation after generation of blind followers. Educated women bring up educated and morst importantly , thinking generations. The biggest enemy of fundamentalism is logical thinking.
To destroy a tree the easiest thing is to cut off the water to it than to cut off the tree itself.
Generation of terrorism has taught the terrorists these basic things. That is why the first thing they do is to bomb women's education institutions and shrines and means of entertainment. Then they impose medevial middle eastern desert moral laws on them to suppress the women further.
Beautiful minds these terrorists have got...!

"Reason" and "fundamentalism" rarely go hand-in-hand.

Im sorry, but the title of the story and the content of the material are not coherent. Taliban had warned against its promotion of ‘shrine culture’, which is essentially a culture where people visits the shrine to fulfill their wishes. These people could be men or women.
The 'shrine' culture is strictly forbidden in Islam. As, it inspires to pray from other elements except the almighty.
Therefore, I would suggest to the author not to use these far fetched title in the news, which mis-represents the motive of the Taliban (and Moeslem as a general for the xenophobes). Dont use bigotry even when u r talking about yr enemies. U dont want to make yrself level with them, do u?

Hi Mahmoof,
Please , could you give us an insight on the real motive of Taliban? What / who do they represent? Your words have this effect that Taliban represent all the Moslems - which is wrong ofcourse.
The shrine culture may be forbidden in certain branches of Islam. But when Babri Masjid got demolished in India in 1992, there was so much protests erupted across the world that the planet earth would have split into two. (I still feel that the day demolition of Babri Masjid happened was the darkest day of the history of India. ) Because that was done by "Infidels" and happened in an "Infidel" country. But, when a similar act is conducted by Taliban "believers" inside a Muslim majority country, is that perfectly alright..!!??
Second thing , Sufism is nothing but a sect ( or branch) of Islam, like some other branches. But the world never heard of "Taliban" branch before. Even if they are a branch of Islam, they dont represent the entire relegion. So how can you justify the demolition of a shrine of one sect by another so-called sect?
Just for clarification, Taliban is not only my enemy, but the enemies of the entire mankind. To defeat such an enemey, we must understand how the enemy thinks.

Why it is the case that Israeli (agents) always talk against the Muslims. R u trying to benefit from the conflicts of different sects of the Muslims?
As could be seen from the recent 'genocidal' actions of the Israelis against the Palestinians in Gaza, your interests should be clear to the readers. Do not tell me that u ve any sympathy for the Sufi sect of the Muslims, because u have none. U just want to benefit from it and use it as a propaganda against the Muslims to go ahead with yr own agenda.

So, you agree that there are different sects of the Muslims.
As for "this" Israeli agent's talk against muslims, if you don't mind, please read the following.
No Jihad in India - says Islamic seminari Darul Uloom.
Still it is not clear for you, then allow me to make it. I have noting against Muslims or the sects in Islam or anything as such. My question is simple. Similar action conducted by both Hindu fundamentalists and self claimed Islamic "potectors" - The destruction of a mosque, that should be protected as a historical building. Hell and heaven break loose against the former action across the world and beyond.
If you look at the job advertisements from Muslim and Muslim majority countries at that time of the Babri Masjid demolition you can see clearly discriminatroy advertisements like "Job vacancies, only muslims and christians apply" etc.
What action will those countries take against Taliban terrorists who blew up this Rehman Baba shrine? Why those "walalalalala" protests are not coming out of the circular mouths of the "fidels" (guess this is the opposite word for "infidel"). Will there be job advertisements saying that "Only non-taliban muslims apply" coming out from those countries? Why still the oil rich countries support the excuse for believers - the Taliban and Al Qaeda ? Oh...Look at the following link.
Tsunami relief fund pledged by countries
Where does Sa-oodi Arabia stand in the list of contributors? The worst hit was the Aceh province of Indonesia, a muslim majority country. Kuwait is the 10th in the list. I am not sure if there is a list of Al-Qaeda donors. If Laden provides one, let us see which country comes first in it.
About the support for Palestine, all the Oil countries do is buy them a gun an turn it towards Israel. Nothing else. Oh, ofcourse the entire Iranian Parliament MPs volunteered to go fight against Israel. Do you have an update on this?
Boy..what a laugh I had reading all these..... :-))
By the way, I love these words "genocide" and "propaganda". They indeed carry a certain wild poetic charm around them.
