Peshawar: Pakistani Taliban Chief, Hakimullah Mehsud has died, State chennal broadcast the news.


Hakimullah Mehsud, Pakistan Taliban Chief, has died due to injuries sustained in a suspected U.S drone attack on January 14 and buried, according to state channel but Taliban has denied the rumors that their chief Hakimullah Mehsud has died.


In the meanwhile ISPR refused to confirm the reports, according to media sources.

ORAKZAI AGENCY: The death of defunct Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan chief Hakim Ullah Mehsud has been confirmed in drone attack, a state owned TV reported on Sunday.

According to the report, Hakim Ullah Mehsud had been injured in the suspected US drone attack and now his death has been confirmed and he buried in Tehsil Mamozai of Orakzai Agency.

Sources said that there were no fresh information after Hakim Ullah Mehsud got injured in the suspected US drone attack, however now the government sponsored TV has confirmed his death.

However, according to a private TV channel, Hakim Ullah Mehsud had got injuries on throat, chest and foot in the drone attack and for treatment, he was shifted to Mamozai from Shaktoi where doctor kidnapped by Taliban, was treating him but he succumbed to his injuries.

He was laid to rest at Tajga, village of his inlaws from 2nd wife.

According to local sources, very limited number of Taliban attended the funeral, but the Taliban had warned the locals against giving information of his burial.

After Mehsud death, Wali-ur-Rehman and Qari Hussain are possible candidates for the next head of the organization."
