NP Rank:
Palestine’s UN Bid DOA under UN Charter Rules
by Karen Fish
A funny thing happened on the way to the UN. It turns out that the UN has a Charter. It’s called the “Charter of the United Nations.” This is the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the United Nations.
Last week Mahmoud Abbas on behalf of Palestine made an application for membership in the UN. The UN Charter contains clear rules for who can be a member and who cannot be a member. Chapter II of the UN Charter is entitled “Membership”.
UN Charter Chapter II Article 4 section 1 states:
“Membership in the United Nations is open to all other peace loving states which accept the obligations in the present Charter and in the judgment of the Organization are able and willing to carry out these obligations.”
Palestine is divided into two geographically separate entities, the West Bank run by Mahmoud Abbas and Gaza run by Hamas. Hamas also has a Charter, a Constitution, Hamas Charter 1988.
Palestine Gaza Hamas Charter, Article Seven and Eight states:
“By virtue of the distribution of Muslims, who pursue the cause of the Hamas, all over the globe, and strive for its victory, for the reinforcement of its positions and for the encouragement of its Jihad, the Movement is a universal one… The prophet, prayer and peace be upon him, said: The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them); until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! there is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him! This will not apply to the Gharqad, which is a Jewish tree (cited by Bukhari and Muslim)… The Slogan of the Hamas: Allah is its goal, the Prophet its model, the Qur’an its Constitution, Jihad its path and death for the case of Allah its most sublime belief.”
Palestine Gaza Hamas Charter Article Seven and Eight opens up with a call for Global Jihad, Holy War, War against all non Muslims in the name of Allah. The Palestine Charter calls for “kill the Jews.” The slogan of Palestine is “Allah is its goal, the Prophet is its model, the Koran its Constitution, Jihad its path and death for the case of Allah its most sublime belief.”
The Koran and Hadith is the Constitution of Mahmoud Abbas and every Palestinian applying for UN Membership today. Here is what it says in the accurate translation of the Koran in the Everyman Koran: “Make War on the Christians, Jews and Infidels, and in return I will give you eternal paradise with Allah, 72 virgins, crystal clear streams, wine with no side effects and 80,000 servants each.” (Koran Chapter 9:5, 29-30, 111; Chapter 56; Hadith).
When a state is governed by a Constitution commanding its people to Make War on all non Muslims it fails to meet the membership requirement of the UN Charter because it is not “a peace loving state.” Therefore Palestine’s UN bid for membership is dead on arrival under the membership rules of the United Nations.

Palestine and Israel not to solve that mess somehow..Not sure if that U.N. fiasco wasn't more about some political window dressing for Abbas at home.

Hamas doesn't want it anyway. They said so in a interview when Abbas first stated he was going to the UN. Hamas spokesman said that it was a way for Abbas to not have to deal with Hamas in reaching consensus on any future united Palestine and that with out Hamas it will fail. Same for any peace talks between Abbas and Netanyahu.

I've been advocating Statehood for Palestinians for a long time. I believe that that and the abolishment of UNWRA are the two key stepping stones that will bring peace to the region.

Thxs ! Why do you want UNRWA abolished ? How does it hamper peace talks?
UNRWA
UNRWA (the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) provides assistance, protection and advocacy for some 5 million registered Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and the occupied Palestinian territory, pending a solution to their plight.
UNRWA is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions from UN member states.

PLO and Hamas don't have to change their ways as long as they are being fed and watered. And as long as the people are kept in a state of victim the supply of jihadist is endless and self perpetuating.

OK..thxs makes sense..The problems with those type of situations are the innocent always end up suffering because those in power don't even care about their own people..
