Palestinian Youth Movement Protest to End All Occupation
On March 15th 2011 at 11:30 am the Palestinian Youth Movement (P.Y.M) has organized a global network of marches for unity. The theme for the protests is "No Division." One of the marches is to be held at El Jundi El Majhul (Unknown Soldier Square) in a Palestinian held section of the Gaza Strip. However, since this is a global event there are to be sister demonstrations throughout the world today where not only Palestinians but all who oppose the illegal and immoral occupations of any nation under such pressure, can voice their dissent in a peaceful manner. According to a press release there are to be supporting demonstrations at these locations as well:
Ramallah: Manara Square
Tulkarm: Roundabout Gamal Abdel Nasser
Jenin: complex of garages near the old Cinema Jenin
Hebron: in front of the governor's office
Bethlehem: Church of the Nativity Square
Nablus: Martyrs Square
Jordan and Lebanon: Have announced no location yet for the demonstrations.
All around the world Palestinians are encouraged to hold peaceful demonstrations at Palestinian embassies. Those in support of the demonstration are encouraged to fly the Palestinian flag to show your support.
These demonstrations are unique in that it is a rare time when all of the divisions of Palestine are unified as one voice protesting the occupation of Palestinian lands by Israel. The protesters have already arrived at the Unknown Soldier Square location in Palestine/Gaza preparing for the day’s events, many having spent the night in anticipation.
The Palestinian Youth Movement is an organization of young people 18-35 from thirty three countries in Europe, the Arab world, North America, Central America and South America. They are a non-partisan independent movement which was formed around the time of the first Palestinian Youth Network Conference in July of 2006. Since that time they have grown in strength and in numbers. Their agenda according to their brochure consists of, but is not limited to:
(1) The unification of Palestinian lands for the re-formation of their nation as a whole.
(2) Connecting Palestinian Youth from around the world through support networks.
(3) Strengthen bonds between Palestinian youth while fostering a more cohesive national identity.
(4) Promote the unity of Palestinian people regardless of their places of residents, factional affiliation, political ideology, or religious beliefs.
(5) Develop the leadership skills and capabilities of young Palestinians.
(6) Support Palestinian youth in improving the political, social, cultural, and economic status in the various places in which they reside while raising the consciousness of Palestinian youth of their responsibilities towards the Palestinian people and their homeland.
(7) Empowering Palestinian Youth everywhere to play a leading and effective role in the realization of their inherent rights.
(8) Inform and raise the awareness of the international community about Palestinian culture, history and struggle.
Since the 1946 partitioning of land by the United Nations the nation of Palestine has lost 93% of its country to an illegal occupying force from the state of Israel. Israel is currently, and has been for many years in violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 242. However this resolution in and of itself has a language that is particularly soft and non-demanding. According to document it only calls for “Withdrawal of Israel armed forces from territories occupied in the recent conflict;” and since the article was drawn up in 1967 it does little to address the “annexing” of land by Israel from Palestine from 1946 through the Six Day War between June 5 and June 10, 1967, in which the status of the territories captured by Israel during the war and the concurrent refugee problem are central concerns in the ongoing Israeli–Palestinian conflict.
To this day the homeland of the Palestinian people has been appropriated by the nation of Israel and the cost in human suffering has been catastrophic. From daily military attacks to the bulldozing of Palestinian homes in the Gaza strip countless lives have been lost and families have been destroyed.
A Countercurrents.org article by Max Kantar described the situation thusly: “Israel is applying ruthless military force and rule over an entire people in their own homeland, denying Palestinians their universal rights to self determination and suffocating all means of social and economic survival while annexing vast amounts resource rich Palestinian owned land.”
It is the hope of the Palestinian Youth Movement to bring a much broader and coherent understanding of the issues facing Palestinians throughout the world and those unfortunate enough to struggle through their lives under the military oppression of the Israeli empire. Through peaceful protest perhaps the world will turn their attention to Palestinian occupation and all illegal occupation throughout the world, so that people of all nations can stand together and in one unified voice declare that liberty is not designed for only those who can afford it.

This needs to be flagged as an opinion Piece. Please state it as such. Opinion is not FACT nor TRUTH. Just opinion. That is what is strongly presented here.
thanks

Yeah, I looked everything up. I din't think it was based on opinion since all of it is verifiable. Perhaps I should have sourced a little heavier.

Oh,.... your Israeli so you probably don't see it from the rest of the worlds point of view. See if you go to someones country and kill them and take their land it is bad form. And that is not an opinion that is how humanity works my friend. Not that you would do something like that. but that your government has. Just like mine has committed war crimes in Afghanistan and Iraq. which is again A FACT.

One more person who has jumped on the "Palestinian as victim" bandwagon. The Palestinian is in such pathetic position, and such slovenly condition because of Palestinian leadership. They are stateless because they have chosen to be so. They have chosen jihad over the establishment of social jurisprudence. So they have no social infrastructure, no institutions, no industry, and are unable to care for themselves as the nation that they declare only in words to be. The Palestinian have chosen victim as a path for sustenance. With out the generosity of the rest of the world and structured relief organized through UNRWA, also funded by the rest of the world, the Palestinian would have nothing. Holding themselves as victims of Israeli hegemony is a cop out and an excuse to continue to create nothing, and to contribute nothing. The Palestinian Authority is nothing more than parasitic professional bums leeching off the global host. They have no excuse for their social condition. It is one they have manufactured for themselves and until they accept responsibility as designer their society will remain as nothing but a breeding ground for hatred and ever more victims to a senseless jihad.

How prudent should they be? FACT: there was no state of Israel before 1946. FACT: Israel INVADED their land and stole it. FACT: For every one dead Israeli there are 13 dead Palestinians. FACT: Israel according to the Jewish holy scripture is not even suppose to have a "homeland" due to being EXILED. Jewish faith is an IDEAL not a STATE. FACT: the land belonged to the Palestinian people not the state of Israel. How prudent do think they should be? You call them names and hate them when your country INVADED them? You should be ashamed of your self too. Human being should be more evolved than that. disgusting attitude. And they would have something if your country stopped taking it away from them. Hate monger!!!

Palestine as a independent governing authority came into existence at the same time as Israel. Fact. Arabs initiated every war since the creation of the State of Israel. Fact. Each Arab State today holds it's demarcation due to events leading up to WW1 and post WW2. Israel due to events of WW2 and NAZIism. Fact. Killing more of your enemy is not a negative. In war it's a plus. Israel has been at war for 60 years with it's Arab neighbors who's sole stated intent is to annihilate Israel and wipe the Jew off the face of the earth. Fact. Taking Land in war is a fact of war. The Golan Heights was Syrian not Palestinian. The West Bank was under Jordanian rule until 1988 at which time the Jordanian's ceded the West bank to the PLO and stripped the "Palestinians" there of Jordanian citizenship. Fact. The Israeli invaded Jordanian controlled West Bank in '67. Fact.
Had the "Palestinian" gotten down to the business of creating a "State" and looking after their people instead of instigating a continuous jihad against the Israeli they would have the nation they claim only in words to be. The Palestinian must live with the reality of their choice. So easy to blame the Israeli, rather once more fail to take responsibility. So easy for ignorant sycophants like yourself who with out shame, yet revel in their ignorance and hold it as a moral right to condemn the Jew who are in fact the true victim of Arab aggression and Islamic oppression since the time of the early Ottoman Empire. Fact.
And for your further edification I am neither Jewish nor Israeli. I'm American. Hatemonger? Grossly emotional statement but, then your entire thinking is based on an emotional response. Those poor innocent Palestinian victims of the Israeli war machine. LOL.
The Palestinian people are victims of the Palestinian Authority. Not the Israeli.
My comment is against the Palestinian "Authority" and their terrorist political movements[PLO, Fatah, HAMAS, etc.] unwillingness to take a responsible position on governance and creating a proper "State" for their people. They receive billion each year for this purpose and have stolen their peoples future for the sake of a religious inspired and senseless jihad. The Palestinian Authority have chosen to be destroyers rather than creators. As Winston Churchill may have said, they have chosen to war war instead of jaw jaw.
