Palin allies report rising campaign tension

Even as John McCain and Sarah Palin scramble to close the gap in the final days of the 2008 election, stirrings of a Palin insurgency are complicating the campaign's already-tense internal dynamics.
Four Republicans close to Palin said she has decided increasingly to disregard the advice of the former Bush aides tasked to handle her, creating occasionally tense situations as she travels the country with them. Those Palin supporters, inside the campaign and out, said Palin blames her handlers for a botched rollout and a tarnished public image — even as others in McCain's camp blame the pick of the relatively inexperienced Alaska governor, and her public performance, for McCain's decline.Source: Yahoo News

I already have a story on this

That's interesting because i ran a search with the headline and nothing came up.....I'm confused as to how the search works and it's purpose for making sure other stories haven't already been posted.
Maybe NP should work a "this story may already be posted" feature when you publish so you don't have to come and tell me you already posted the story...How many people are on here? What if 75 people post this same story at the same time...I would hope you aren't going to go around and leave a comment on 75 stories.

If quoting from an outside source via Highlight, the app will automatically redirect you to an existing NP story, if such a one already is on the site. This only works when you try quoting an already-Highlighted source, though.

I just went to the exact same story and used the highlight tool and it did no such thing....It still posted it even though I have the same story on my page...It didn't show me "already posted" stories.

so since my story came from yahoo as opposed to CNN it allow me to post then right. So how do we avoid duplicating stories?

i punched in the headline in the search and not even one headline was found with palin's name in it.....You would think since Palin's name is at least in the title it would show me something already posted. This has to be a flaw in the search program. And I just went to the search and punched in my Yahoo headline with Palin's name in it and only my stories popped up....Every story with her name should come up in the search. Does this make sense?

I did a search for 'Palin' and got these results.
If you just do a search for your title, only your stories are going to come up because only those ones have that exact title. I think you have to search more general.
