Sarah Palin's Farewell Speech As Governor Of Alaska

Sarah Palin emerged on the national political scene less than a year ago with her unsuccessful bid as candidate for Vice President.

Sarah Palin handed over the reigns of office to Gov Sean Parnell, during a swearing in ceromony in Fairbanks, Alaska on Sunday afternoon.

She gave a 19 minute speech, recounting her accomplishments while in office.  She told the press that the new governor had a nice family too and to leave his children alone.  She also told the press to "quit making things up".  She also addressed the Hollywood crowd.  She said "We hunt because we eat."

Sarah Palin has been the centre of controversy and ethics complaints, the latest being an accusation that she had not been performing her duties as governor while campaigning.  This complaint as six others from the same complainant have been rejected.

Sarah Palin resigned as Governor of Alaska quoting the numerous unfounded ethics complaints that had become a burden financially on both her and the Alaska tax payer.

Yesterday Palin said her farewells to the people of Alaska, which turned out by the 1000s where ever she went.  Most well wishers encouraged her to run for President in 2012.

Palin has not announced such plans, but hinted that she is moving on to bigger things.

Palin is scheduled to speak at the Regan Library on August 8th and perhaps her future plans will be revealed then.

"Ain't gonna shut my mouth / I know there's got to be a few hundred million more like me / just trying to keep it free," Palin said in a recent Tweet, quoting the song "Rollin'," by the country duo Big & Rich.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Gov. Sarah Palin gained fame -- and to some infamy -- since she embarked on a vice-presidential bid less than a year ago.

Her surprising departure from Alaska's top office is gaining her something else: questions over her motives and next big move.

She leaves office Sunday with her political future clouded by ethics probes, mounting legal bills and dwindling popularity. A new Washington Post-ABC poll puts her favorability rating at 40 percent, with 53 percent giving her an unfavorable rating.

The Republican governor also faces an array of queries about why she is quitting more than year before her term ends and what she plans to do after she steps down.

Palin has said little about any major moves, but has hinted that she has a bigger role in mind. She is scheduled to speak Aug. 8 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California, and has said she plans to write a book, campaign for political candidates from coast to coast and build a right-of-center coalition.

For a while there it was touch and go as Canada was under siege. Bush to the South, Palin to the North. The Alamo didn't have it so rough. My respects for standing firm and outlasting these two...

Lol hidflect you have a way with words.  We're still under siege, there is a pipeline coming through Alberta from Alaska soon.  Just what we needed more of the countryside torn up.  I hope they spare me.

I just really hope she doesn't run for president in 2012...

The Democrats seem to think if she runs it will be a godsend to them.

Palin will at first keep a low profile, make a few speeches, write a book and make a lot of money.

She will campaign and fund rai8se for selected reps next year and keep her options open.

If the economy recovers and there is noit a disaster in Iraq of Afghanistan Obama will likely be unbeatable and she will not run in 2012.

If there is no improvement then Palin will run and could win.

She is still relatively young and has at least thje next 4 elections to run gor president.

She could also disassociate with any of the traditional political parties and try to start a new grass roots movement.  She keeps saying how disgusted she is with "Politics as Usual"

Yes, she could lead a third party and I hope she will but it could not be organized for 2012, maybe a 3rd party run in 2016

The Tenth Amendment Movement would be the order of the day for her.

The Tenth Amendment is the American constitution's amendment that concerns the powers of the federal government.

Many of you probably didn't know that it took legal shenanigans to allow the federal government to begin to control marijuana and heroin. That technically is the concern of the states.

Sarah Palin and the governor of Texas have both signed their respective Tenth Amendment Resolutions, which, in the case of Alaska, was passed unanimously.

The federal government began its total take-over of the US with the FDR-packed US Supreme Court's ruling that even wheat you grow for yourself, that never leaves your farm, can be considered "interstate commerce" and, hence, regulated.

FDR kept trying to pass unconstitutional legislation and the then seven-justices of the Supreme Court kept on declaring his programs unconstitutional.

So, what the FDR do?

He got the chance to add two more justices to the court by getting an act passed to that effect and with his two extra FDR-oriented justices, got all his legislation approved.

Sound similar to what a Canadian Prime Minister did.  Mulroney just found a loophole in the law and appointed 8 extra Senators when the Liberals had a slight majority in the Senate and blocked his goods and service tax legislation.

Politicians often play politics.

LOL. Yes. Often a tautology explains the truth better than anything else.
